Going to try to fly to Calgary and go to a day of the rodeo. Any do/donts for the rodeo?? We will be in Calgary likely 2 nights and then plan on driving to wards Banff and Glacier and getting air bnb for rest of the time. Does anyone have a good 3 day timeline or must-see things? We do hike, but prefer less strenuous hikes. Any must eat/drink spots would also be welcome. Thanks in advance.

There's a mostly non-strenuous (but extremely exhilarating) via ferrata on Mt. Norquay in Banff if you're into that sort of thing!Reel Aggies said:

Our family has done this combination several times and have always enjoyed it.
For Calgary Stampede, make sure to avoid the weekends & holidays, as well as the free days. Last year, our schedule only allowed for going on Tim Horton's family day and it was miserably packed compared to previous times. We stayed at a hotel near the airport and just took the train into downtown.
Banff is beautiful. We've stayed in Canmore and in the town of Banff. We much preferred the town of Banff for walkability, but it's considerably more expensive. Be sure and hit up Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, both very short hikes but will require reservations. The Banff gondola is also fun with lots of walking around on top.

Start booking rooms for both towns now as they typically fill up quickly.
