Trying to decide where to go on the end of year trip for 2023. I travel to Costa Rica often and will be going for a short stay in May, but want to try someplace new later. It will be a quick (5 day) trip and should include some beach time.

Which of the two countries should it be? What must we do? Where should we go?

Note: Airline travel seems pretty similar, and I HATE all inclusives.

Well....was that pre-Escobar days or post?

If I don't get much input on this thread then, I guess I might as well jump.

Not gonna lie, I did have to google it, but it is a good philosophy.

I had a neighbor spend 4 weeks in Colombia 2 years ago.
He loved it.

Panama sucks. Colombia is better. Brazil is even better.

Not single, but pretty girls never hurt. From the youtube videos that I have watched, it looks like there are plenty.

Colombia is hands down the more interesting and the country with a higher variety of things to do. It's one of my favorite countries I've ever visited.

Both countries offer a unique blend of culture, history, and natural beauty. However, there are some key differences to consider when deciding between the two.

One advantage of visiting Colombia is the diverse range of landscapes and activities available. From the Caribbean coast to the Andean mountains, there is something for everyone. Colombia is also known for its vibrant culture, including music, dance, and art.

On the other hand, Panama offers a more laid-back and relaxed atmosphere. It is known for its beautiful beaches and is a great destination for those looking to relax and soak up the sun. Panama City is also a modern metropolis with a thriving culinary scene and a rich history, including the famous Panama Canal.

Ultimately, the choice between Colombia and Panama depends on what you are looking for in a vacation. If you want a more diverse and culturally rich experience, Colombia may be the better choice. However, if you are looking to relax on beautiful beaches and enjoy a more laid-back atmosphere, Panama might be the way to go.

Personally, I would recommend visiting Colombia. It offers a wider range of activities and landscapes, and the culture is truly unique and fascinating. However, both countries are great options and either one would make for a fantastic vacation.

Thank you for that. I do plan on visiting one this year and one next year and the benefits of each that you have cited are the reasons. Ultimately, the beach is a driving factor to us, so I can see us enjoying both locations.

Time will tell.
