Anyone ever been/stayed in Medicine Park, OK? Looks like a neat little place with cabins/cottages lining the creek.

Only driven through, I don't recall that it was that impressive. But I do like the area for a quick getaway.

Don't miss a drive up Mount Scott, the Wichita Mountain Refuge, Meers Store, and the Old Post and Artillery Museums at Fort Sill.

Here's another thought. Go 75 miles west and stay at Quartz Mountain Lake. It's been a few years since we were there, so check recent reviews. But they had a pretty nice hotel and lakefront cabins.

Though these do seem entertaining

Flock to the Birdhouse Cottages in Medicine Park and take your pick between four colorful, unique vacation rentals Cardinal, Bluebird, Hummingbird and Painted Bunting. Each of these creekside cabins comfortably sleeps two on a queen-sized Nectar mattress and comes with a mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot, TV, WiFi and reserved parking space. Start and end the day on the spacious balcony, which overlooks the gently flowing Medicine Creek. These eye-catching cottages are located right in the center of town providing easy walking access to all Medicine Park has to offer.

Those birdhouse cottages is what caught my wife's eye. Appreciate the Quartz Mtn suggestion. I'll look it up.

They have been making some nice updates at Medicine Park. It's an odd mix of cute resort town, biker hangout, military vibe and neglected edge of town lots. But I've never run into anyone there that wasn't friendly and there are some great hikes and unbelievable clear water in the area. Plenty of water snakes, too.

For Quartz Mountain, check the water level on Altus-Lugert before you go. It's primary purpose is irrigating 50,000 acres of cotton and I suspect its low this year, but haven't looked.

My son who is a Major in the Army used to be stationed at Ft Sill. It's a neat little town in the mountains but there's not much there. Had dinner at a nice place. Not sure what else there is to do honestly.

Carlton Landing is another surprise gem in Oklahoma. Feels like a mix between 30A in Florida and Table Rock lake.

Disagree. It's overbuilt and not very impressive. My BIL boasts about their place here...Boring.
