Looking for top tier hotel recommendations for this Fall. Doesn't need to be on the Riverwalk but open to suggestions in any case. Thanks

Hotel Emma. Go big and get one of the suites. Lots of sexy time.

I'll throw in Mokara, almost too nice for San Antonio.

Just stayed at the Emma this past weekend. I was super skeptical of 900/night. But - free breakfast and free parking brought it down to an effective 800/night, also got a welcome cocktail and free bottled water. It's a really unique hotel and the service is top notch. It's not something we're going to do again anytime soon, but we really enjoyed it and my cheapa$$ found it totally worthwhile. Also keep in mind, no airfare, no airport parking, no rental car - so the whole deal plays a little more like a $500 hotel with a flight.

I'd also highly recommend Bliss for dinner in Southtown - we're pretty well versed in good restaurants and were really impressed. No liquor though - only beer and wine.

Looks like Emma is the popular one to check out.. anyone been to The Boiler House and Texas Grill & Wine Garden across the way?

In general, it looks like a good little area there.

btw, thanks everyone for your suggestions!

Emma is nice but we like the St Anthony for its location.

I'd recommend Supper (part of Emma). Their service and food/cocktails are excellent. If you want to leave the hotel, then Cured is also good. In the few times I went to Boilerhouse, they over-salted everything so would not recommend (atmosphere is meh too.)

Plus one for Bliss if you want to leave the Pearl compound for dinner.

Local San Antonian here. If you stay at Emma and want to eat at Pearl, I'd go to Cured or Best Quality Daughter. (BQD is way more casual, but super delicious and fun!). Another rec is Jazz Texas at the Pearl. It's so much fun! Also love pastries at Bakery Lorraine.

We must have been to Supper on an off night for them because we thought both the service and food were just OK. It wasn't bad but certainly didn't live up to all the high praise we'd heard about. Just another reading to go back, I suppose.

Another vote for Hotel Emma - great hotel and experience

La Cantera if you want resort feel and out of "town"

It's been a few years, but we stayed at Hotel Contessa on the river walk and I couldn't believe how nice it was. Not sure if it has changed or anything but we were able to secure a great rate and they upgraded us to a suite.
