My wife and I got married on April 10th, but we had to postpone our honeymoon to Bora Bora due to Covid. We had rescheduled to the end of May, which works out fine as the island reopens May 1, but now they're requiring unvaccinated individuals to quarantine 10 days. That's a no-go for us (don't want to turn this into a vaccine thread, her and I just don't se the risk in Covid at our age to justify a vaccine that hasn't been fully vetted). We are going to get an antibody test just to see if perhaps we've had Covid in the past and didn't know it. If we have the antibodies, then we'd still be able to go to Bora Bora along with a few negative Covid tests before/during the trip.

As a backup, I was looking around the Carribean and Florida for a week getaway. Florida is very attractive since they're completely open and won't require us to get testing done to leave/enter the country. What would be your top destination spots for newlyweds to enjoy white clean beaches, shops, golf and good food?

Miami
Ft lauderdale
St. Petersburg/Clearwater beach
Look south of Tampa a few hours

Anything in the panhandle won't have the hot spots and food as big beach cities will.

I'm headed to Anne Marie island this summer

We have gone to the Pearl at Rosemary Beach for years now as our kid-free spot. Upscale, adults only, steps from the beach. Lots of good dining in the immediate area. Unfortunately in the chaos of high travel demand their rates are really high this year, but if it was a honeymoon I wouldn't care. Crowds are minimal if you wait until after Labor Day.

We are doing Marco Island, which is near Naples. The Marriott has an adult only tower which gives you access to an adults only pool and beach area.

Never been, so fingers crossed it's a nice area and nice resort.

The FS in Palm Beach is probably my favorite resort there but it can get pricy.

The northern end of Anna Maria Island (the City of Anna Maria).

I've been going to Anna Maria Island every year for the past 14 years.

I would look at Marco island (JW Marriott) or Naples. If you end up near Naples book a dinner at sunset time at The Turtle Club. Thank me later.

What is your budget? That will probably help us give some recommendations.

Higher end:

Naples- La Playa Resort or Ritz Carlton

Palm Beach- Four Seasons or The Breakers (friend's daughter honeymooned at The Breakers last year due to Covid changes to original honeymoon location and they really enjoyed themselves.)
