We're heading to Park City next week - 4 adults and 4 kids ages 5-8. I see several dining recommendations in this thread already - thank you. Please feel free to add any more. Also, we'll be in SLC for lunch 2x during our stay - any lunch recommendations in SLC for families? We're ok with cafe/breakfast options, of course. TIA.

Main Street Pizza and Noodle is a pretty good place to take your family. Our teenage crew goes there every time we are in town.

Breakfast: Eating Establishment and Silver Star Cafe. Five Seeds is good as well, but not sure about options for the little ones.

The teenagers and my girls (7 and 10) also like Java Cow for sandwiches.

Have fun. Should be good snow. Finally.

Skiing PC, Canyons, or Deer Valley?

Thanks, '93. Men were suggesting Wasatch Brew Pub, and women were pushing Even Stevens (sandwiches and salads?). Pizza and Noodle sounds like it might be a decent compromise.

Skiing PC, first time to PC for all 8 of us. Glad the snow's been falling over the past week or so, January had me nervous. Kids are really looking forward to the possibility of a solid week of snowfall while we're there. We're also planning a day of sledding and the ice castle exhibit (?)

Wasatch Brew Pub is great. Check out the tubing hill at Woodward if you have time. You will see it just before you get to the PC exit on your way in from SLC. Have a blast. Can't wait to get up there next week.

We have heard that a lot of Texas folks have had to extend their trips because of flight issues. Hope everyone is staying safe and enjoying a couple of bonus ski days. Might as well stay since home isn't much fun right now.

Savant, find any good places to eat or other fun things to do? How was/is the skiing?

For SLC lunches w a group with kids, Squatters Brewpub and Red Rock Brewpub are both good options downtown. Good food at both, beers, kids menus. Now I haven't been out to eat recently, so I don't know how they are doing things as far as +/- reservations, etc. I would probably call ahead of time.

Skiing should be great - the Lower Rocky high country has been in a pacific wet system for the last 2 weeks.

In CO we've gotten almost 50+ inches

Thanks for the pointers, reporting back

Snow was fantastic. Had at least some snow every day and I believe ~24" over the week we were there. Even had partly cloudy (sunshine) conditions toward the end of the week, albeit with lower temps. The PCMR ski resort itself was great. I'm sure the crowds were COVID-tempered, but we found everything very accessible and not over-crowded. The resort staff were assertive re: masks/face covering indoors, and around the base area and lifts, but it really wasn't a big deal. We grabbed reservations each day in the resort dining hall, even brought our own packed lunches in one day. Their cafeteria food was a bit pricey for grab & go, I think I paid $20 for a burger, fries & drink.

We ended up tubing at Soldier Hollow instead of Woodward cheaper, smaller crowds, etc. Kids & adults all loved the tubing, and the allotted 2hrs admission was just about right. Cool to see another Olympic venue, and the surrounding community (Midway?) was quaint. Fantastic scenery down in that valley/bowl. We stopped for coffee & hot chocolate in Midway but didn't dine.

There were plenty of dining/food options in PC. We had dinner at Squatters Brew Pub (off Main), Red Banjo (pizza on Main), and Chimayo (southwestern on Main). We also had breakfast at Eating Establishment. All were fantastic. We had a party of 8 and generally had no problem getting a reservation, although we had kids and were ok with 5-5:30pm seatings. The only reservation we couldn't get was a same-day request for one of the igloos on the Wasatch Brew Pub patio (on Main). Apparently they only have 2 seatings for each of the 2 igloos, and all 4 seatings were already booked. Again, I tried calling the day-of and had to wait until they opened at 3:00pm. My bad.

We'll definitely head back to Park City, probably for a warm weather trip, too. Had a great time.

Amazing skiing/dining as always. 10inches of powder yesterday, not the easiest if you aren't used to it but fantastic weather from now on this week. One thing to avoid - flying out on a Sunday. There is an hour long security line, apparently like this every weekend. Clear is the way to go, you can sign up at the airport for free for the first month. It takes 5 mins, well with it.

Has anyone visited in the summer? Where do you suggest staying and what is there to do?

We went golfing, ATVing (our favorite thing we did) and horseback riding when we went in august for our honeymoon. Also did some relaxing by the pool. We stayed at the st regis since there was a big sale and it was our honeymoon, but there are plenty of more cost effective options too. Got good food recs from this or a different park city thread.

We debated, but ultimately ended up not ziplining or doing water sports but there are solid options for those.

I think you will really enjoy. Summer in PC is what sold me on the place.

On where to stay, I would say that depends on what you will be doing the most. If you need or want a pool or hotel atmosphere, then St. Regis, Montage, or Stein Erickson if you can get a decent rate. If you want to hike and want a condo, then go to the Village in Empire Pass. Walk out your door to amazing hikes and views--fun afternoon is to hike down the mountain to Main Street, grab a beer, then catch the shuttle home. You are 5 minutes on the free shuttle to Main Street from the Village.

Things to do: Great hiking and mountain biking at Deer Valley (www.deervalley.com) and at Park City Mountain; catch the lift to the top of Bald Mountain and either mountain bike down or hike; several zipline options; Olympic Park; mountain coaster at Park City Mountain; and Main Street is great--No Name Saloon is a good place for a beer or cocktail.

Enjoy!!

Hikes: Highly recommend taking the Silver Lake Trail to the top of Bald Mountain and back down. Great views of the Jordanelle. If you don't want to hike up, you can catch the lift to the top and hike back down. There is a trail map a www.deervalley.com. I have not hike much over on Park City Mountain, but I am sure there are plenty of great trails there as well.

Food: Eating Establishment and Silver Star Cafe are good for breakfast. High West Distillery has good food as well. River Horse on Main, Courcheval, or Grappa if you want a nice dinner. Hard to go wrong really.

June is a great time to go since it is normally not as crowded.

Has anyone do any rowing, kayaking or other water sports around Park City? If so, how was it? What did you do and where?

Any favorite condo/house recommendations for family of 6? Would prefer walking distance to the slopes...and for the non-skiers walking distance to shops, bars, food, etc
TexasAg93

Not sure I can give you any specific condo or house recommendations, but can recommend specific areas depending on where you plan to ski--Deer Valley or Park City. If Deer Valley, I recommend staying in Empire Pass or possibly Silver Lake. Empire Pass is almost exclusively ski in/ski out and has a free shuttle that will take you into town. Its is up the mountain, but the free shuttle makes access to the shops, bars, etc. almost as convenient as being walkable.

If you are skiing at Park City, the places on Empire Avenue or on Main Street are likely the most convenient to walk to both ski access and the bars/restaurants. The places up around the village for the Park City Mountain will be good for ski access and the restaurants on the mountain, but a little less convenient to Main Street.

The downhill mountain biking is amazing, but also not for the timid.
