I recently completed a two-week project across six states for my travel blog to document, from the air, jets that have been grounded because of the virus and subsequent collapse of commercial aviation. The full story is here, but I thought I'd share some pictures of some of the more impactful images to appreciate the scale of everything going on.

"Aircraft" is the word you're looking for, not "aircrafts." "Aircraft" is both singular and plural.

I might have to take a little roadtrip up the the Mojave desert to check out all the big planes that must be parked there. There's a lot normally. But now there must be tons of them.

I totally believe it. All I'm seeing out of BUR every day is cargo planes and a handful of Southwest flights.

I've been traveling for work about every 2-3 weeks for the past 2 years. By the time I take my next flight in June, it will have been 3 months since the last time I got on an airplane. The situation with air travel is crazy. It's far worse than after 9/11.

United supposedly going to furlough 30% of its pilots after government assistance expires in September unless demand rebounds this summer, which is unlikely. Crazy when the years prior all you read about was the pilot shortage and the trouble the regionals had in getting enough to fill their demand.
plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

thanks for sharing. Drove by MSP for the first time since I've been working from home the other day and it was sad seeing all the Delta planes parked at the hangars facing 494.

We live in Minnetonka under one of the approach patterns and it's awfully quiet these days.

Driving on 405 used to always see planes lined up for miles on approach for both runways but now you might see one or two coming in, often cargo, to land.

Not just pilots; whole work force. From what I've read.
