Heading to DC tomorrow for the first time. I know all of the obvious touristy things to see, which I'll be doing, but does anybody have any lunch/dinner places to recommend? Fine with anything from a casual burger place up to a nice dinner restaurant. No Mexican food.

As for things to see, is there any recommendations out there for things to see/do that I wouldn't think of when considering the normal tourist/history sights to see? Or anything you just really like that you want to mention anyway?

Our AirBnB is somewhat near Union Station, a little NE of it, if that matters at all
CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.

for hitting the monuments, do the nighttime bike tour. Can't imagine being stuck on a bus tour for that.
Bike and Roll was great for us.

Check our Medium Rare for a low key, casual dinner. Steak frites is the only item on the menu. Cheap and always a good time.

Supra is a Georgian restaurant. We had lunch their a few weeks ago and it was very good.

A signature Georgia bread is Imeruli which is stuffed cheese bread. it is very flat, looks almost like a quesadilla. I don't know if it had a ton of butter in it or if the cheese just has a very buttery flavor, but I could eat that stuff every day and die (early), fat, and happy.

The Ajaruli is boat shaped bread overstuffed w/cheese and has a raw egg on top that cooks as you stir it into the cheese. From what we learned afterwards THAT is the better of the two. When I get back to DC I'll go there just to order that Ajaruli. If it is even close to tasty as the Imeruli then it is a success.

Lobio Katanshi was very good - mashed red beans w/a side of pickled cabbage. The pork ribs were just ok.
