The grandparents want to front a trip for the whole family. Aside from the budget, the only caveats are that we must plan it and all must commit to attending. Including the grandparents, there are 7 adults and 10 grandkids. Grandkids range in age from 10 to 1.

We all live in Texas so driving or flying are options.
My brother suggested the Florida Keys.

What ideas / recommendations does TexAgs have?

We did a cruise as a family - both sets of grandparents, my brother, my husband and kids. Even another family from CS came along. It was great because there were things to do for all ages and didn't require flying.

From what I hear, the Florida Keys are expensive. But I've never quoted it, I typically do all-inclusive vacations in Mexico/Caribbean. Not sure if that is an option for you, if so, I can make some recommendations on resorts.

We have stayed in a large house right on the beach on St. George island in the Florida panhandle. Everyone (16 of us) loved it. I think St. George fared OK during Hurricane Michael but you may need to check it out.

The Florida panhandle was built for this. We had 4 couples and our families in one house. Do a VRBO search with 6 bedroom 5+ bath units. The one we had was ~$10,000 for the week. It was a blast.

We also rented a 6 bedroom house in Cozumel for $600 per night. It was amazing as well.

I'm gunna assume summertime?

We have a large extended family and thought about these kind of trips as well. Here are the places we've discussed in no particular order

Hilton Head Island
Branson
Destin area

We like golf so we try to go to places that offer that as well as beach/water activities for the kids. Also Colorado/New Mexico type of mountain places are great with family's as wel. We enjoyed red river which we did a handful of years back

I hate cruises but I can see how that could be good for a group to do

Gatlinburg is an awesome option. I've stayed at the following places and they fit your criteria.

Gatlinburg Mansion
Sycamore Mansion
Foxwood Mansion
Mansion in the Sky

They all have plenty of room, hot tubs, in house movie theaters, game rooms, bunk beds for kids, and great views. You're in the Smoky Mountains, close to Gatlinburg, short drive from Dollywood, etc.

My favorite is the Gatlinburg Mansion for layout and view but if you need an elevator, check out some of the other ones. They are all great and have a ton of top end amenities. A note, the Sycamore and Foxwood are essentially next door and on the same piece of property. I know the company has several other places but those are the only ones i've stayed at.

Have you ever been to Branson Missouri? There are lakes, Silver Dollar City, country music

Mecca, etc. You guys could rent cabins Table Rock Lake and travel into Branson for music

and entertainment.

I went to Park City this summer with a few families, about 30 people total. Rented two huge houses.

Had a hell of a time.

Wherever you go, check sites like VRBO.com and rent one large house instead of several motel rooms.

We did this for a family party in Abiquiu, New Mexico. Much cheaper than a bunch of motel rooms, we were all in one place, had a kitchen, indoor and outdoor areas, it was fantastic.

Thanks for the suggestions. Budget is about 15k before adult kids throw anything in. Likely looking for a summer time venue.

This, find a city that sounds cool and rent a house.

With the elderly colorado might be harder with the alititude, but basically any beach city or tourist area is really easy to rent a house in these days. Plus you can save on food since its much easier to cook most meals.

Doing this at the outer banks with my gfs family in the summer.

Another option.

Estes Park CO

Get a big cabin. My cousins family does this. Usually 20-30 people.

Thanks for the recommendations. Lots of good suggestions. We handed the planning off to my brother who has a lot of time on his hands - ended up finding two condos next to each other in Anna Maria Island in FL. Turns out we're going this summer.
