Never been to the Galveston location. Wife is thinking of taking our 6 year old daughter for the day but can't decide a location. Pros and cons of both locations. Thanks

It depends on the time of year, but I think I prefer the Galveston one. It's much smaller, but it is a nice park.

New Braunfels has way more to offer, and I love the way the actual river is integrated into the park.

But I will only go on a week day. The weekend crowds in New Branfels ruin the experience. But if you can for a week day, especially a Tuesday or Wednesday, its better than anywhere by a long shot.

So ironically I just spent the last two days in NB. Used to have season passes to Galveston. To me, NB wins hands down. But the lines are sooo long in NB. They now offer this FastPass type thing, but it essentially is almost double the cost of your ticket. We didn't do it.

Day 1 (Monday) we went to he original park (there are 3 here in NB, you get access to all 3 with your ticket). I was shocked, we never waited more than 30-40 minutes, even in the middle of the day. This was very much like old times and we had zero complaints. Before noon (2 hrs after open) we had already done 4 rides. (It does help I know the park well so we knew exactly where we were going from one ride to the next).

Yesterday was completely the opposite. We started in park 2 and rode the main ride there (apparently they got rid of a ride, they used to have another one there many years ago). After it we immediately went to Park 3, and waited 2.5 hrs for Master Blaster. This was ridiculous. We would never had done this had we known it would have taken that long. We then spent the next several hours just doing lazy rivers and things like that. I will say the Black Knight ride never got super long and we did that one around 5-6 and then went and did the other ride near Master Blaster. We waited about 30 minutes starting at 6:45 for it. My kids did Black Knight twice after that.

I would still choose NB over Galveston but that's because there is more to do. Monday was great, yesterday was pretty ridiculous.

All in all it was a great time. I would steer far clear on weekends.

We've been to both many times with kids. Galveston gives you many more rides in the same time and is much bettter for younger kids. As mentioned above small and nice. NB is better if you're renting a cabin and doing multiple days. For one day or less and with a six year old Galveston would be our preference. Plus, there are many other things to do on the way to Galveston and in Galveston.

I grew up going to NB, like 25 years ago that place was nothing like it is now. If you like neck and eye tattoo's and waiting in line for hours, and not being able to find rides then have at it.
I'd go to Galveston if I had to chose.
Doesn't Sea World have a park, or that Grey Wolf place?

Bahn in NB is just like any other amusement park - get there early, do the big popular rides first, then enjoy the day doing rides with no line. Thats really the only rule to follow. Whats nice about the Bahn in NB is all the rides that don't require you to stand in line and have multiple entrance and exit points - like The Falls endless tube ride.

If you're waiting in line for 2.5 hours, then you're doing it wrong.

Yes, everything in Texas is more crowded than it use to be. This is a shock to no one.

Bahn in NB is a huge park with 3 parks in 1. And there are still a lot of places where you can get away from the crowds and take it easy in the shade/water.

what's the third park? All I know of is the old, original park with the tube rides that use river water and the new park with the masterblaster and the boogie bahn. Haven't been in probably 10 years or so.

The 3rd park is within walking distance of park #2. It has more rides than park #2. And now they have a super long (worlds longest) lazy river sort of thing between the 2 parks.

The 3rd section has been there probably 20 years now.
