Hubby has a meeting in Vegas in a couple of weeks at the Mandalay Bay. Hotel is booked so I need to find a room elsewhere. I don't gamble so I need a room that is clean, updated & very nice. It has been a few years since I was in Vegas & I stayed at the Venetian. Room was great but I have no idea if they have kept up on maintaining those rooms. I know awhile back there was a thread on non gambling things to do in Vegas so I would appreciate if someone could link that thread since I can't search. Thanks!

Mandarin Oriental

VDARA is nice and quiet as there is no gambling. Next to Aria and short walk to the Cosmopolitan. Close to the Mandarian Oriental as well.

Mandarin Oriental is not within budget for our dates. Need to keep the base rate at or below $300. So far within budget is the Venetian, Wynn, Caesars, & Bellagio.

Just got back from 3 days at Mandarin and paid $279/night. They also have some promo to stay three nights and get the fourth free.

Honestly I wouldnt go to Vegas if this hotel wasnt there. Great location to everything Vegas is known for but without the smoke, 30k millionaires, and the ding ding ding sound coming from the slots (ie, no casino).

MO is $459 for our dates so not within budget although I wish it was. Staying 3 nts.

All of those are nice and continually updated. NYNY and MGM are closer to Mandalay if that is a consideration.

We like to stay at The Mirage. Small casino by today's standards. Good location. If you want to impress your wife, stay at The Bellagio with a room overlooking the lake so you can see the water show from your room.

The Wynn's location isn't great but it is awesome.

Vdarra shoukd fit your needs. Check Expedia for deals.

Hubby has stayed there a few times recently & likes it because he always gets upgraded. For our dates the rate is $790!!!!! Yikes!

Won't be disappointed with the Wynn. Top notch hotel.

Palazzo

A couple of non-strip things to do:

If you have a rental car, drive out to the Hoover Dam. Pay for one of the extended tours.
Also, Valley of Fire state park north of the city is neat. Unusual sandstone formations.
Most every hotel has some sort of show or concert. There's something to meet every taste.

No love for Excalibur?

Anyone ever air bnb in Vegas? See some Vdara penthouses, places at Caesars and Jockey Club at Cosmo for good rates.
