Wife and I are planning a stateside 4-5 day getaway for this summer and I'm looking into a condo in the area. Looks like a nice mix of beach, food, nightlife, and culture.

Anybody been that can chime in on activities, things to do, beaches, places to stay, etc?

Just want to get a better idea of what the area has to offer.

Seabrook island is very nice.

I would suggest unless you have something specific in mind to spend 2 days in Charleston and 2 days in Savannah GA and one night in Beufort in between. Both Charleston and Savannah have a rich history. Savannah's historic district is great for strolling and looking at the architectural history and a walking tour with Savannah Rambles is one of the best in town. Both cities have great places to eat if you want more info I will be glad to share. We as a family went last summer and my wife has pestered me for a trip back without the kids. It isn't really pestering when I want to go as well, I guess

Went to Kiawah Island for a golf outing and it was fun but it was with a group of guys during March Madness many years ago. Great resort but honestly we didn't do much other than golf and eat something at the resort.

The food places to eat in both Charleston and Savannah are some of the best in the Lo Country and would be happy to recommend a couple of places based upon what you like and budget.

I would be interested in suggestions for Charleston. Planning a trip there this summer.

We're already done Savannah. SIL went to school there and we turned graduation into a week long stay. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

We're looking at Folly Beach so we can get a couple days of beach relaxing with a couple days of sightseeing and eating in Charleston as well. I'm going to try to get a round or two of golf in and maybe a fishing trip.

I started a thread on the golf board about the courses in the area as I'm trying to gather info on that as well.

Good eats include Fazio's, Laury's, and Pies and Pints. Do not trust their mexican food (duh) or sea food. Stroll along the Kanawha river for some down time.
