I second this. I could not expect anything better. Very expensive though.
Whatever you do, stay of out of Dominican Republic if you want decent food. Great beaches and pools, but every resort seems to have terrible food. I believe it's an infrastructure issue.
It definitely is a infrastructure issue. When we stayed at The Excellence Punta Cana it took us an hour to get there and since the main road (if you can call it that) was down we literally drove an hour down a dirt bumpy road through a rain forest to get there. How they manage to get water and food there is a miracle.
Supposedly, The Excellence is above average by Dominican standards and while I found it good I'm def not writing home about it. (Beautiful resort and probably the best customer service I have ever received in any form in my life. Such a great place. Average food though)
Since then we stayed at Aruba and Turks and Caicos and the food was SO good there.... Not all inclusive but I don't think there is too many all inclusives at those two. Too many good restaurants.
This year were back at Punta Cana to save some money so we will see how the all inclusives go this round. Were staying at The Royal Suites Turquesa (sp) and I'm curious to see if the the food is the same as the Excellence. I'm betting most of the resorts at Punta Cana are serving the same food.
