I have 4 dys off for spring break with the kids (2,4,6). Other than Hyatt Lost pines in Bastrop, is there any other places for kids near austin? Any place around Horseshoe bay? Anything else kid friendly?

We have done all of those places. I just want a relaxing (ie, pool and kiddie stuff at same site) and not the walking/fighting crowd seaworld experience.

Thanks

Horseshoe Bay Resort has a groupon out right now, but I'm not sure if it's blacked out for the days you're looking at. They have two pools and a lake beach along with some other kid stuff.

if you willing to go out to Horseshoe Bay, you could just as easily get to the JW Marriott in San Antonio.

Of course, realizing it is Spring Break, everywhere worth staying will be crowded.

Keep in mind that SXSW runs from March 13-22, so if your spring break falls in that timeframe it might be hard to find a place near Austin.

Spring Break really is not the time to come to Austin with kids - way too crowded, too expensive, and too much alcohol.

Second vote for the JW Marriott Hill Country

Surprised no mention of Lakeway Resort and Spa. Much better when the lake is full, but still a serene place to stay. Great pool complex, boat rentals, golf, and proximity to tons of cool stuff.

I'd go down to Rockport.
