Thankfully Cabo has recovered from the storm! Very few AI places there-just not popular. Way to many places to eat & drink in every price range & some super food!
I go in the summer so no I have not been since the storm. The "regulars" that travel to Cabo are reporting back on the Trip Advisor forum that there is still a small amount of work to be done but if you have never been to Cabo you would not know the storm had come thru.
Note that the groupon is in San Jose. Cabo San Lucas which is famous for the Arches where the Pacific meets the Sea of Cortez is about 20 miles away. SJ is a smaller town w/fewer restaurants, bars, hotels, etc.
Stayed at Barcelo in San Jose del Cabo about 5 years ago right after it opened. It was nice but... After a few days the food kind of all tasted the same and I got real tired of Tecate.
Stayed at Melia Cabo Real 21 years ago when it opened and we took a few trips into Cabo. I'd say that experience was probably better. Even if I was 23 and broke.
The only reason to go all inclusive there is if you like to drink and hangout at the pool. I like all inclusive mainly cause of breakfast, lunch, and the booze. We do typically go out for dinner a few night while we are there though. Great place. One of my favorite vacation spots.
Skip the AI, too many great bars and restaurants. All reasonably prices if not even on the cheaper side.
Stay close to the marina/town then everything is walking distance. I think Sandos Finisterra is the best AI for the money and the location is perfect. Playa Grande also has an AI option as well, love this resort but never did AI.
