Pretty sure that party was at the sig ep house

My family and I were in Ciudad Acua, across the border from Del Rio back when I was a teenager. We only spent part of a day there shopping. When we got back home, we saw on the news that there was a shootout between the Federales and the local police in Ciudad Acua.

I was in Kappa Sigma, the fraternity that does Wicked Woods.

I think the TKE house was where the accident happened.

Sounds like the present day Lamda Chi house; however, I think TKE might still have a house out there. I know they went through a ban a few years ago.

Back in 2006, I was in London when they caught the guys planning to blow up planes coming out of Heathrow (the reason you can't have liquids on the plane anymore). Scary times, although I don't know if that counts as a "close call"

I did a canyoning excursion in Switzerland during a summer of backpacking in 99, a week later 21 people were killed on the same excursion when a flash flood came down the valley. I was in Paris by that time and spit my beer across the bar when I saw the news, still remember it vividly.

Was flying back to Houston via Newark from Glasgow, Scotland when this was going on. Guards armed with MP5's at the airport, and we couldn't bring anything on the airplane.

It was a definite FML moment, but I'm glad the precautions were taken.

I was coming back from Glasgow through Newark in 2001 as well. August 27. 15 days before the attacks.

Not nearly on the level of some of these other stories.

I was flying into SFO and already beginning approach when the Korean plane crashed a couple of summers ago. Last second diversion to San Jose.
