What is everyone's thoughts on Houston Vs Austin airports which did you like better. I really loved the Austin airport and though it was a nice reflection of the city

Austin-Bergstrom International is a very nice update of Bergstrom AFB. New and modern terminal. Destinations are somewhat limited. IAH has been around and has worldwide selection of destinations. AUS has easy access and parking while IAH is a little more difficult to navigate because it is much larger and has more to offer in the way of air travel.

The Austin Airport is awesome.

Well. I like Austin's airport better.

I like Houston's destinations better.

I prefer flying out of Austin to Houston.

like comparing Central Market to Target.

Need to also look at Hobby vs IAH. Very different experiences between the two.

Sorry. I just can't figure it out. This thread seems dumb.

One is a major US hub with multiple international destinations....the other one is Austin.

I thought the old Austin airport/terminal was a much better representation of true Austin. The new one better represents the burbs around Austin.

Hobby is one of the worst airports in the country, IMO.

What's wrong with Hobby?

Easy to get in and out of, and plenty of regional flights from a carrier whose costs and efficiency are significantly better than the airlines working out of IAH.

Some destinations require a departure from IAH. But when given the choice, I'll take Hobby every time.

Lately, I've found much cheaper flights flying from Austin through IAH than originating in IAH.

Whether that adding another leg to your travel is worth that discount is questionable. But I saved a few hundred bucks my most recent experience, so I'd say it's worth it.

I always prefer flying out of Austin. They are about the same distance for me, and Austin is much easier to maneuver. Austin is usually cheaper as well. There are definitely times when IAH is the way to go, but I will choose Austin when possible.

I didn't realize Southwest flights were cheaper than others.

I live in Houston now. I used to live about 55 minutes from Bergstrom. I travel domestically 20-25 times a year and love Hobby!! It's just so much easier than dealing with IAH I think. I can get a direct flight to just about every destination SW flies to. I travel internationally 3-5 times a year and the IAH serves a huge convenience for me vs. what Austin served. I'll take both Houston airports over Austin all day.
