How long do you want to ignore this user?
Can anyone recommend a Destin area house rental company. Need a small house for family for spring break. I know it is last minute.. Don't need anything fancy - just sleeps 6 somewhere near the beach. One of the outer communities would be fine. Would just like to find a rental agency someone has used in the past and can personally recommend. Any suggestions of location and activities would be appreciated. TIA

Check out the town of Seaside, about an hour east of Destin. Much quieter and nicer. Search on vrbo.com for the neighborhood of watercolor, lots of gorgeous houses right off the beach. Might be a stretch getting something on such late notice

You need to hit up Gabe! I think he posted some pics on FB of a nice house on the beach he rented a couple months back.

We usually find something on 30A east of Destin; beaches are not as crowded and there are still plenty of restaurants, golf courses, retail, etc. Typically we find something west of Seaside but it is pretty much the same all the way to Rosemary Beach; after that you get into the Panama City Beach areas which I am not a huge fan of.

One alternative to Destin is Fort Walton Beach, about 5 miles to the west. Lots of beach-front condos for rent, not nearly as busy and built up as Destin (more family-friendly) but only 5 minutes away. We've been vacationing there for 20ish years and finally bought a vacation/retirement condo there earlier this year.

We went with Southern Resorts as our management company, but there are plenty of others -- ResortQuest, Brooks & Shorey... Most of them manage multiple properties on behalf of individual owners like us and have plenty of options.

VRBO is another option for searching but it's more hit-or-miss as far as finding something to suit your needs -- we rented several times from that site, mostly good experiences, and usually a little cheaper than going with one of the management companies listed above.
