How long do you want to ignore this user?
My wife and I will be in Paris for 2 days in early June. We've been to Paris a few years ago and have done all the major touristy stuff. This is just a short stay in Paris before we move on to the rest of France.

With that said, I am curious what people would recommend for hotels. We are wide open right now in terms of where about and price range. I do want to keep the cost to below $200 a night and obviously a safe area.

TIA!

We stayed here when we were in Paris with my in-laws. Walking distance to the Louvre. I'd stay there again. Might be a little over $200/night.

we stayed here (more than 200/night, but not sure if you were serious about a nice safe place for less than 200). Nice clean rooms, view of the Arc, etc. (if you get an upgraded room). Good breakfast (which is big for me on vacations)...but the kicker...location is hard to beat. It is right at a big subway station (pretty good sub in Paris) and right on the Air France bus station. If you don't know what I mean, Air France runs a dirt cheap coach bus service from CDG to two stops in Paris...one being right outside this hotel. Bus was clean, efficient, and on time.

We are staying at Absolute Paris...was recommended by a friend who has been. Staying 2 nights and our total is 231 in May. It is located in the 10th district.

I suppose so but we booked a private room w/ private shower. Free breakfast as well. Our friends stated it's nothing fancy but if you're on a budget it's worth it. Won't be in the room much anyways.

We stayed at the Residhome Opera (small apartments near the Opera house). It's a great location near 3 different Metro stops and an RER station. Price was very good... want to say under $200 a night but we booked a package deal with airfare.

We stayed in an apt around the corner from the louvre for around $120/nt. They're apartments rented out, and they've got apts in lots of good locations. You will not find a better deal in paris.

We have stayed in gites all over France, and there are lots in the Paris area. Basically a bed and breakfast. If you see a British flag in the description, it means english is spoken there, although the quality and quantity vary widely.

For the kind of trip you are looking at I think you'd be hard pressed to top Hotel Relais Bosquet.

We stayed there April 2009.

It's about a half block off of Rue Cler and only a few blocks from the Ecole Militaire metro stop.

Eiffel tower is an easy walk.

*Nice little bar/cafe just across the street.
*Rue Cler has lots of little grocers, bakeries, wine shops, cafes, and best of all a streetside crepe maker.

According to their website prices start at 123 Euro. Rooms have wifi which was really nice.

For such a short trip you could easily enjoy yourself and never leave the neighborhood.
