anyone done it? any recommendations for companies?

booked my flight to south africa in may/june and this is one of the things i can't miss out on.

I've done it...do it in Gansbaii. Not sure what the company was called, but there are a bunch of good ones there.

Just don't dress up like a seal unless you want to get a really close up look.

Oh, and be sure to buy a small disposable underwater camera somewhere for cheap. They offer pictures or rentable cameras, but they're really expensive.

It's a great experience sitting in the cage, looking for a chance at a good pic. One thing I can suggest is that the guides will most likely tell you when to go under to see the shark...just go under on your own, and you can watch the thing go all the way under the boat and back around.

The underwater cameras are okay for simple little trips, but they take crappy pictures. If you are going in a shark cage, use a good underwater camera otherwise you will regret it.

If you're going to spend the money to go on a top notch great white dive, spend the money to get a high quality video of it tearing you asunder.

I agree on a high quality camera, but speaking from experience, they are large and cumbersome.

You will get limited time in the cage, and there's not a whole lot of room. You're going to have a hard enough time taking a picture with a small camera, much less bouncing around with a big one.
