My son and I are coming to B/CS the first weekend in March. We're looking to stay at an affordable and nice hotel. Any suggestions? I've seen some favorable comments about the Manor Inn and Days Inn. Thanks!

Might check out the new Best Western at 6 and Austin Colony Pky. It's pretty new and has a bar, breakfast, etc. We've stayed there and it's far enough from the hiway to be quiet but close to some restaurants, etc. And price was good.

If I were you I'd use pricline.com. I used it last May and was able to get the Hilton for $60 a night. (granted it was around finals so there was nothing going on). It's worth a shot though.

I second this response. Also, make sure you select the name your own price feature.

Vineyard Court is probably my favorite. Usually around $109/night, includes continental breakfast that is OK, but the rooms are suites and pretty nice.

I'd steer clear of the Days Inn. Last time I stayed there 3-4 years ago I felt like I should have gotten a hepatitis vaccine booster.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on University last June.
Good rates, very clean. I'd stay there again.

The Super 8 on South Texas used to be really nice, but I haven't been there in 10 years, so I couldn't tell you if it's been maintained or not.

Hampton Inn on the bypass at University or the Homewood Suites. I'm in CS once a month and i have never stayed anywhere else. I'm sure the travel web sites have bargains.

The LaSalle in downtown Bryan. You can get a suite for less $100 a night. I live in town and my wife and I have stayed there a couple of times for special occasions away from our kids.
