I was there last week for work. We like Lambert's as well. The meatloaf fed me 3 times (I'm 6'2", 210 so I'm not exactly a dainty eater either).
Lulu's is right off 59 on the north side of the canal. Owned by Jimmy Buffet's sister. Food isn't really recommended, but a good place for a drink, live music, etc.
The Flora-Bama Lounge is another place worth checking out and having a beverage or two. It's about 10 miles east on 182.
If you're into fishing, the spanish mackerel were blowing up the beach everywhere. Gold
gotcha lures worked very well for me. Get a few of them or use a steel leader because they are toothy. Pompano should be in too, but I didn't fish for them.
