Give me your resturant suggestions for Denver on an expense account. I'll be staying downtown near the convention center.

Also is there a good breakfast place? Like a good pancake house or breakfast dive?

TIA

I'm moving there in less than two weeks. When I was up there a few weeks ago, I enjoyed the food and scenery at Earl's. It is a place on the 16th street mall, between Broadway and Glennarm. Good food and good drinks. Not excessively pricey though.

breakfast near you, there's a sam's diner close by. I'm not a big fan but others are. (i'm not really a breakfast guy though so there's probably something much better that i'm not aware of)

Also near there for lunch I'm a fan of The Broker and 17th and stout.

Denver Chop House and Brewery. Very good steaks and beer. It is right across the street from the ball park.

Brunch - Bump and Grind.

The waiters are cross dressers, which isn't my idea of scenery, but the food is awesome.

Dinner
Tamayo - 14th & Lamimer (Modern Mexican) very good
Capital Grille - 15th & Larimer (Steaks, better than Elways or Sullivans and much better than Chop House)
Jax's - 17th & Wazee (Seafood)

Breakfast
Sam Diner - There is one on 15th and one on Spear - one should be very close - Local favorite buy not mine.
Mona's - 15th and Platte River, near REI
Snooze - Larimer and Park, near coors

Lunch - Chedd's - "gourmet" grilled cheese sandwiches.

They've been trying to franchise them and apparently got someone to bite in Austin.

Whenever we move back to Dallas, if I could get the funds I'd open one - it's a great sandwich.

We ate at Jax 3 weeks ago - didn't care much for it. My wife is from NOLA and Jax tries to do a lot of 'cajun' dishes and doesn't do them very well.

Buenos Aires Pizza - get the Chorizo/Red Pepper/Jalepeno pizza - it's my favorite thing I've had since I moved here. 2 blocks or so from Coors field directly east from the North side.

I just saw this thread and it may be too late, but I love Dixon's for breakfast/brunch. I'll second the recommendation for The Broker for dinner on an expense account. The peel'n'eat shrimp to start was unexpected for Denver but very good. I love Wahoo's Fish Taco for an easy lunch. We liked McCormacks for seafood. The wings at Falling Rocks Tap House remind me of Wings'n'More as much as anywhere.

When the place opened in Austin, I was skeptical. I ended up eating there, and it was good, but a little pricey.

When you move here, please do not go to Denver Chophouse for Steaks. You will learn that it is just a chain place with pretty good food. Nothing special.

Most steak places, including Captial Grille, are chains. The one time I went to the chophouse, I had a good steak. Wouldn't say it was best ever but it was a good steak.

True most nice steakhouses are chains, Del Frisco is probably my favorite. But Denver Chophouse is Rock Bottom Brewery and I have never thought of the place as a nice steakhouse, just a Chain Brewpub with a little bit better than normal food.

Del Friscos - now we're talking.

I thought the filet at Denver Chophouse was good, and I liked their beer that is soaked in the old whiskey barrels.

I hope to try Elways pretty soon.

Elway's can't be beat.

Zengo.

It's Asian-Latin fusion. I gave it a shot because I had a couple of French guys to entertain that were tired of steak.

The place is GOOD.
