watty, there is a lot of hiking, paddling, and climbing around LV. Skip the casinos and go with your wife to places like Zion, paddle in Glen Canyon (or even better, go hiking in places when the water is low!), explore Yosemite and Death Valley. You will enjoy it much more than spending money at the casino.

Death Valley was very cool but Yosemite is at least 7 hours from Las Vegas

Would she like the shows? There is something for everyone. Comedy, big stars, Cirque Love is great. Broadway shows. I want to see Jersey Boys next time in Vegas. A massage at a spa? Dancing. Great little bar in the back of the casino at Bally's for dancing.

I think I dated a plant like your wife, once. Liked music and TV... watered every once in a while...

Just Kidding...

What about strip joints? She into those?! Plenty in Vegas.

Just Kidding.

When I travel with my wife, we often do massages. If you can find a "couples massage," you'd do well.

If she likes music - You might take her to Bally's... they have an outside deal, similar to "Cocktail." It is a great place to people watch.

If she likes the outdoors... I'm sure there is a place out there, where you can find something like dune buggies, or get out of the city, to do things.

Then, again... if your wife doesn't like to do all of those things... why would you want her to go to Vegas?!

I took the biggest butt-chewing from a spouse that Vegas has ever witnessed - right there in the middle of Fremont Street. I asked her what the hell she was doing splitting Queens in blackjack. I guess she didn't like being called-out in front of an entire blackjack table. It then spilled on to Fremont. It was ugly. My friends, who were there, bring it up everytime at our weekly poker game. The wifey and I really don't gamble much together anymore.

Sounds like your wife is a card counter to me. She knew what she was doing.

Alright since I started this thread, figured I'd jump back in. Finally got the wife to go. She had a decent time, but she probably won't ever go back. I sent her to the spa two mornings while I played golf. We saw a couple shows. One night we just ate and shopped/people watched. One night we went out to a nice dinner with the other couple we traveled with. We went hiking one day. Did some other lunch buffets and shopping. Walked around and looked at the crazy hotels. All in all, kept her busy enough to have a good time.

Looking back on the thread made me chuckle too. My budget is no longer $200. And Vegas is a lot more fun when you actually do have money to play with.

I replied and will follow up. My gf I mentioned (now wife) loved the trip we took to Vegas last year. She thought it would be alright, but it greatly exceeded her expectations.

The sites were great, she actually enjoyed the busy-ness, loved the food and shows and, of course, the shopping. I taught her blackjack, which she picked up quick and really liked.

We also went to the Hoover Dam, she dug that more than I did. We also caught a concert

She looks forward to returning to Vegas. There's tons to do in short doses.
