Let me know how you like it. Also, can't tell from the site, but post if there is any close/convenient nightlife.

Wow, this resort is worth the money. The service was great, food tremendous, and weather was perfect.

It is about a 30 minute cab ride through the "ghetto" but once you pass that it is all natural land until you get to the "compound" as we called it.

The golf course was in good condition, they had just punched the fairways so we played for $90.

The resort has nightlife built it with a karokee bar, techno bar, cigar bar ect. You can take a cab to Coco Bongo for about $15 and on Tuesday and Sunday nights they have a shuttle that takes you to Coco Bongo.

There is no tipping allowed so you never have to worry about carrying cash around, and the wait staff was always helpful.

I plan on going back soon.

If you have any questions let me know and I answer if I know.

top notch. The only liquor they didn't have was Jager. Bacardi, Stoli, Absolute (Citron, Orange), Jack, Chivas, ect. No Louie XIII, but most everything you want.

They have 4 main restaurants, but a different one is closed day of the week. Lobster house, Steak House, Itilian, and Asian Cusine. I never had the Asian, but Itilian was great, we had the rehershal dinner there. Lobster was great as well, but if you get it order it grilled, 10x better than steamed. Steaks were ok, nothing to write home about.

They also have buffets that are open. We had breakfast and lunch there. You could pick grouper, calamari, shirp, scallops, clams, salmon ect and they would grill it in front of you. Also have hamburgers, chorizo, pork chops.

Fresh fruit for breakfast along with coconut french toast, pancakes.

I think I gained 10 lbs!

One night I was even allowed to go behind the bar and makes shots for our party. If you want a double, no problem!

Thanks for the review. How is the construction going? I've heard that's one thing to watch out for when booking there, but it may all be done by the time we get there.

Most of the construction was on the outlining areas of the resort.

All of the buildings currently ready face in towards the resort (lazy river restaurants) so you never realize it is going on. I occasionally heard a saw or machinery but not enough to distract me. There is a lot of construction on the roads leading to the resort, but the cabbies deal with it. Once that place is finished it is going to be real nice!

Not sure what type of room you have, but my buddy who got married stayed in a suite with a master bedroom, living area (stocked with liters of jack, crown, bacardi, absolute) balcony downstairs, and a HUGE shower. You could fit 10-15 people in it easily. They also had rooftop patio that was huge and overlooked the beach and water! Tables chairs, 10-person hot tub, and a bed to lay out on .. 1000sq ft I am guessing! I am sure it cost him a pretty penny. He was in 9167, so try and get that room if possible.

I was in the cheap room (4201) but still had a nice size shower with multiple shower heads, a hot tub/bath tub which opened up to the balcony and a living area. When you go make sure you look at channel 49 and 50! Major Porn Non-Stop. 49 has better looking girls, but 50 is some dirty arse crap!

They had 2 heated pools and several other regular pools. They also have a lazy river that runs throughout the complex. Service was great; they have bars everywhere you look and plenty of restaurants. Other activities besides golf? What else would you want to do?

Everyday they (entertainment crew) did something, beach volleyball, water polo; you can take kayaks and hobie cats on the ocean.

I've never stayed at this particular resort, but the Excellence chain is absolutely top notch!

Honeymooned there in November. Awesome place. took a cab ride to the public ferry and went to Isla Mujeres to spend a day on the island. probably the best day we had. I did in fact gain 10 pounds on our trip.

I think I am going to go there for my honeymoon in april...

Do you have any more details or pictures?

Also, who did you book with? and if you don't mind me asking, what kind of price did you get?

Thanks!

We had a great honeymoon there last September. I booked with Jane through Berman Travel. She found me better rates than I found anywhere on the web and she was able to get us in one of the best rooms available.

The price point will definitely depend on the room type you choose. We spent quite a bit to get the Club rooftop terrace since it was the honeymoon. It was great, but if we go back there would do a regular room just to save money.

I was there the same time as AggieEric. I was wearing an A&M hat one day and a guy walked by and said howdy and it kinda threw me off. Its amazing where you find other Aggies. It must of been you.

The place is amazing. I would go back to any of their resorts in a heartbeat. They are opening a new resort in Jamaica sometime this year.
