SW,
My wife and I love Onda. We always stay at the Mirage and always go there. Love the bruchetta type oil. We just got back a couple weeks ago and are going again, so we wanted to mix things up a bit.

if Piero's is still there, they are excellent. Their Osso Bucco is the best I have ever had...

Not on the strip, but Nora's Cuisine is excellent. Well worth the trip. http://www.norascuisine.com/

I've heard good things about Maggiano's in Fashion Show Mall. I'll be going there for the first time later this month.

If you've got the money you need to go to Rao's at Caesar's.

Another vote for Batista's Hole in the Wall. A vegas instituion. Not the fanciest Italian you can get, but very solid and always a good time.
Been going there for over thirty years and never disappointed. I think their time in the present configuration is limited as Harrah's has bought the property for a future redo of the Harrah's property on the strip.

if you live in in Texas & fly to Vegas and eat at a Houston based restaurant, you should be kicked square in the junque.

If you spell "junk" "junque", you should be kicked in the junk.

Like Bootleggers Bistro out on the LV Hwy past Madalay Bay...the pictures on the wall are worth the drive.
Think it belongs to the lady mayor's family and she and others still give live shows out there. In the old days, Sintra and the Rat pack used to put on impromtu show out there.
Food good...pictures on the wall...GREAT.

Zeffirinos' in the Venetian is awesome. My wife and I ate at the one in Genova, Italy on our honeymoon and the owner gave us his business card with something scribbled on the back and told us if we go to the one in Vegas to give it to them We did about a year later and got our meal and drinks comped. Supposedly the one in Italy was Sinatra's favorite restaurant and the Pope had also eaten there. Cool place.

We tried Carnevino a few months ago in Palazzo. It just opening in early 2008. Very good...great wine list and food. Its owned by Mario Batali (who I don't usually like) and Joe Bastianich (the reason we went...). We'd definitely go back.

Battista's Hole in the Wall

Was in Vegas 2wks ago. We walked in Battista's and it was crazy packed. Didn't end up staying there because of the long wait, but the inside was awesome. It really had a great atmosphere and lived up to the 'Hole in the Wall' name. I don't know how fair it would be to compare it to the fancy Italian places throughout Bellagio/Wynn/Venetian, but it was more of my kind of place.

I'd recommend going there based upon that. I still want to go back and actually eat on a future visit.

B&B Ristorante at the Venetian
Ate there last week and without a doubt one of my favorite dining experiences in Vegas
kwammer

B&B is the way to go if you want a nice, Italian restaurant.

Battista's is for the Fremont Street Experience and Vegas buffett crowd. If a restaurant serves free wine, I am pretty sure that is all you need know.

You bet. Vegas is a great food town. If you have the money, take advantage of it.

Battista's is for the folks staying at the IP and those who enjoy the Olive Garden. If that's your thing, knock yourself out.

"Off the Strip - Just Real Food"

#1 on trip advisor for a really long time, went here last time we went to Vegas, by far the best place we ate during the trip. The owners wait on you, were super friendly, and even gave us cheesecake they just got from NY that day for free. GREAT Italian food. It's not close to the strip at all though, but if you already have a rental car it is more than worth the 10 min drive to get there.

Stratta in the Wynn.

I have not been to all of the places listed, but I have been to Rao's and Battista's. Stratta was much, much better than both.
