I'm looking for something not too pricey, but not scummy either. Would prefer somewhere on the beach. If it's away from the tourist traps, that's fine too (and probably cheaper anyway!). Thanks in advance!
I stayed at La Finistera (Land's End) and I thought it was a great hotel. It is on the Pacific side just around the point where the arches are located. The beaches are very wide and sweeping there and they are bordered by some huge rock formations. La Finistera has two phases - the oldest is built into the cliffs and offers some great views of the marina. The newer addition is on the beach. Both areas are connected. The famous Whale Watchers Club is located here, so you may want to check it out even if you don't stay at La Finistera.
Next to La Finistera is another property that shares the same beach. I think it would be cheaper than La Finistera.
If you want to be closer to the action stay at the marina or at one of the hotels closer to The Office.
they both have swimmable beaches and are pretty secluded. they are next to each other on the hotel corridor between cabo and san jose. i have stayed at the marquis and would go back in a heartbeat. the food, service, pool area..everything is amazing. the only problem is that it's about a $25 cab ride into either city.
How about San Jose del Cabo? Any recommendations there? I understand that hotels there are generally cheaper than CSL, and the downtown area of SJdC is pretty cool.
I planned a party at El Encanto Inn and it was absolutely charming. I just peeked into a room, but the hotel setring is BEAUTIUL. There is a courtyard with chapel to which the rooms open. It was in downtown San Jose, within walking distance to great restaurants.
Anything far away from the main marina (CSL) is going to be relatively quiet and slow - maybe that is what you are looking for. I could walk to the marina from La Finistera.
