At least we catch a break and the Big Unit won't be pitching against us. But I'm sure they will bring up some A baller and will no-no us.
I will say about tonights game, Albers pitched pretty well despite the 5 walks. He's still pretty young, when Jennings comes back, it might do him some good to get some starts at Round Rock. I think he could become a solid end of the rotation guy.
I think the thing that is most frustrating is that the starting pitching was definitely the big question mark coming in. But Sampson has been solid and Wandy has been suprisingly good. We are getting pitching performances 3 out of 5 times that we should win the game. If we could hit anything we could be a .550-.600 ball club.
Not giving up on this season, but it will be interesting to see what this club does next season. Burke will get his shot at 2B. Lee, Pence and Scott should make up a nice outfield. I wonder if Lane will be gone, I would hope so. I'd rather have Bruntlett as a utility guy that can play both the infield and outfield. Catcher? Quintero is an ok backup, but is Ausmus back or Gimenez? I just don't think we can continue to have a weak hitting catcher and have Everett at SS. Does Ensberg start to turn it on or do we need to find a new 3B? If we can fill those holes, Loretta and Lamb make for great bench players, they just arent everyday players.
