They just love losing, they find new ways to do it every night. 9 games under .500 in a weak division.

Hitters swing as hard as you can at everything lets not work the count or try and hit one back threw the middle with 2 strikes. Lets let a starter off the hook with a 5 pitch inning in the 7th.

Pitchers lets put at least one man on base every inning.

defense lets try to set a major league record for the number of errors in one season.

I have been trying to stay positive about this team because we have nothing to watch until August otherwise. This team has great talent and they stink.

I am so sick of watching less talented hitters on other teams come threw in the clutch. I can't believe this team is this bad, maybe having a guy scream and yell at them everyday is the only way they will play hard.

You should try listening to them on the radio instead of watching. Victor Rojas has no problems calling out the bad play of this team. It's quite entertaining.

Tonight, in the 10th inning, when Nelson Cruz fouled out on the first pitch against the new Rays pitcher. Victor said something along the lines of "I guess working the count is not the strategy for the Rangers tonight. This new pitcher is 1-5, era is over 6, opponents are batting over .300 against him, and he has given up 5 homers in 18 innings this year (dramatic pause) I guess the Rangers scouting report said "swing at the first pitch"

That is my point exactly what in the Hell is Rudy telling them to do at the plate. Hell they swing at the first pitch and they try to hit a HR on every at bat. Rudy has been good for Sosa but he hasn't done anything for anybody since pudge left.

Yes A-rod won the MVP because he is A-rod. Mike young gets 200 hits a year because of the way he approaches batting practice. Why can't Rudy have everyone approach hitting like Young.

If the great Rudy would just tell his guys to be more selective we would get more walks. I mean what the hell is our on-base %? When a guy is on base the first thing these guys think of is HR two RBI's. Think base hit or walk this has gone on long enough for me. He should have been let go last season, but because he is doing good with Sosa he will probably get a ten year extension.

and another thing Washington should put the take sign on the first pitch to every hitter. That way they will see a least two pitches.

It is unbelievably frustrating to watch this team. The worst thing that could have happened to Kinsler is for him to hit 10 homeruns so quick. Now every time he gets up he is dropping his back shoulder trying to go yard. They are just playing plain, uninspired baseball. Rudy needs to be fired.

I'm not sure how much talent they really have. Outside of Young, Tex, and Kinsler I think it's pretty low.

Agreed. This is one of the worst five teams in MLB in terms of talent. I've been saying this "most talented rotation" the Rangers have ever had was crap from the beginning.

I love this team, but when are they going to figure it out. Every fan they still have knows the same old problems and they can't seem to fix them:
-Trading away talent with an atrocious track record
-No pitching
-Poor free agent decisions (coming and going)
-Reliance on the home run

and now you can add bad defense. Awesome.

The fact that Shields had a 4-pitch inning last night kind of confirms that.

I've been behind this team through thick and thin, but I'm about to the point of following them in the box scores the next morning now..There is nothing really worth watching on this team right now.....

Guess I'll regroup next april and try again

Dave, it's really getting bad for me now..... I went to the very first game in Arlington in 1972.... I used to live and breathe Ranger baseball..... this organization is so pathetic from the owner on down that I honestly don't care anymore.... I even find myself wanting them to lose.... the franchise just needs to be imploded....... relocate the Marlins to DFW and then I might get excited about baseball again!

The problem is in 96', 98' and 99'. They do just enough to pull you in.

Blalock, Cruz, Diaz, Laird and Loften. Pitching
McCarthy, Tejeda, Gagne', Otsuka and Millwood.

All these guys have talent they just haven't shown it this year. I agree the three best on the team are Young, Tex and Kinsler but the guys above are not chopped liver. That is why this team is so frustrating. With what we have we should be sitting in second place and within 1 game of first. When you look at the KC roster that is a team you could look at and say yea they should be that bad. Like I said we have been waiting for ever to see this team get consistent two strike base hits. I don't care if Tex is a power hitter every time they shift into right field he should just lay a bunt down the third base line. It is an automatic base hit.

hopefully the rangers won't be visiting the Wizard prior to their trip to Minute Maid

Every team has guys that get you excited about their potenitial. I like Blalock, Laird, and Cruz too, but they aren't unique in the league by any stretch.
I maintain that we are clearly more talented than the Nationals, and you can make arguments for 2-6 other teams, no more. Don't expect a late summer surge because these guys' talent suddenly begins to show through, it's highly unlikely.

Like I said we do have talent maybe not the red sox or yankee's talent. When I compare guys like Blalock, Laird and Cruz to other teams I like those guys better. Now last season if we lost Blalock in a trade to Florida well we had Derosa and we got Dontrelle. I still maintain we have talent. If I compare this team to the 1996 team I know the 96' team won more but I can't say their talent was that much better.

It all goes back to hitting for me the 96 team could get timely hits, take walks and had an idea of what to do with two strikes. I know the Rotation we have now is far better than the one in 96'. The bullpen is also much better.

Like I said above this team isn't this bad but for some reason they stink.

I wouldn't say that the rotation now is better than it was in '96. Remember that team had 4 starters with 14 or more wins (Hill,Pavlic,Oliver, & Witt) plus they added John Burkett down the stretch. Even Kevin Gross won 11 games. Granted 2 of their ERAs were over 5, but they still managed to get wins. That team's bullpen also had decent middle relief (Vosberg, Russell,Cook et al.). The thing that killed them was Mike Henneman, my eternal nemisis. It seems like that man blew more saves than the Rangers are going to win this year.

As toward this year's team. They are depressingly bad. I give myself hope by thinking about how poorly the Ags played last year in RC's first year convincing myself that if it happened there . . . and the Devil Rays scored their 11th run (when that happens you can assume there will be no pennant this year)

8 freakin' runs and we lose the game. I agree with the above poster about checking the box score the next morning.

Just take two of three from the 'stros and I will be happy in light of the circumstances.

agpilot- I wouldnt be a bit suprised if we were swept by the astros... i would be incredibly happy if we were able to win 2 out of 3 against any team at this point in the season

This really sucks I can't believe we are this bad.
Like I said no heart, no will to win just pic up a pay check every week and don't try to get better.

It's not about heart... the Rangers really just have no talent.
Swabbie02
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I disagree Tex, Young, Kinsler all have talent Loften and Sosa have past track records Millwood, Padilla are capable of throwing 200 innings and winning more than 15 games. McCarthy and Tejeda wouldn't be here if they didn't have a chance at being solid guys.

Put that all together and we should be at least .500 but we aren't anywhere close. Like I said no heart no desire to win.
AgPilot98

Michael Young is in a major slump. A three run dinger in the bottom of the 8th could have really picked this team up.
Swabbie02
How long do you want to ignore this user?
What this team needs is a leader to many soft spoken guys in this club house. We need a fire in the gut kind of player to get in his teamates faces. I don't think that guy is Tex, Young or Blalock.
