I keep thinking that he can't keep doing this, and yet he keeps doing it. It's going to be such a great race to watch through the summer to see Sanchez, Miz and Ohtani battle for the CY. Ohtani is close to getting his average back over .300, just ridiculous that he could simultaneously be a .300 hitter and carry a sub 1.00 ERA.

Not sure if it'll happen or not, but there is a chance for Skenes and Ohtani to face off next week in Pittsburgh. If that happens, I'm going to find a way to try and be there. (I live in Indiana)

What an awesome matchup.

As great as Ohtani has been, is he even top 3 in he NL right now? The first 1/3 of the season has been ridiculously deep in Cy candidates.

I'd probably have him number 3 right now behind Sanchez and Miz, but with the caveat that if he finishes with an ERA below 1.00 he wins the award even if he doesn't qualify for the ERA title.

He's going to finish like 50 innings behind Sanchez which is pretty significant in terms of pitching value.

I'm going to be really curious if he asks the Dodgers to start letting him go out more often so that he can hit 162 innings and qualify. Right now he's on pace for like 150, so they'd need to get him probably 3 extra starts to make sure he gets there.

Ohtani pitched well through 6, and if they had taken him out then he probably gets the W and the ERA is still well under 1.00. But he gave up 2ER and one unearned run in the 7th and then the bullpen imploded and cost him the win as well.

Was watching it and thought 90 pitches? Get this dude out of there. I think he's chasing that Cy Young so intently that they made a dumb move to keep him in to get innings

One of the best pitched games in baseball history. I was surprised when I first saw he went 9, then saw the pitch count and realized just how dominant he was.

If the voting were held today I think Misiorowski is now the CY leader with Ohtani and Sanchez pretty even for 2nd.

One thing to keep an eye on will be Misiorowski's load in the 2nd half. I think there is a good chance the Brewers taper him at some point to make sure he's fresh for the playoffs. This will easily be the most innings he's ever thrown so they will want to manage him. I also bet that they are the ones that trade for Skubal, they have the farm system to do it and running out Skubal and Miz in a series gives them a really good chance to win the WS.

I just keep waiting for his arm to just separate from his shoulder at some point.
