Framber's agent has spreadsheets why he's a good guy! Clearly, a non-issue.

He needs to send some of his other clients out to tell everybody about the time Framber taught them how to tell a curveball from a fastball.

That's a heavy price to pay

Other pitcher is Tobias Myers (I read)

Brewers always end up winning these trades. Watch Sproat have a better year than Peralta and Jett become rookie of the year.

The Brewers love those slappy hitters

I've heard it from more than just a couple folks so that's interesting - but I know one person was talking about conditioning specifically.

BTW - I worked for KZNE as well for a few years. Bet we know a lot of the same folks.

Likely do know some of the same people. I owe all of my best stories to Chip who really believed in me and gave me the opportunity to cover the Astros for us and to cover Aggie basketball. I was there from 05-08. Gabe was also instrumental in getting me access and teaching me the ropes of the business.

The peralta trade likely takes the mets out of the running for framber. Wonder who is realistically left for him.

Probably just Baltimore on a short High AAV deal

Has a player ever done anything as damaging to themselves in terms of FA status/contract value as Framber did that night?

You can argue this was a cumulative effect of his mental strength as a player and that would give pause for concern. But assaulting Salazar just on its own? One single act? That act alone is going to cost him tens of millions of $$.

I honestly think his mental issues were somehow kept in check for a majority of his time here, but the pressure of playing for a generational wealth payday was just way too much for him to mentally handle. Just look at when it all started going downhill and then just snowballed culminating in that moment when he lost his freaking mind. He couldn't handle the pressure.

There's a lot of issues behind the scenes with Framber that are well documented throughout the league.

I can imagine. But throwing at his catcher? The only thing close to that I can think of was Bauer melting down and throwing the ball over the CF fence when Tito came out to pull him. That got him cut right there. But it didn't cost him money. He got picked up and got the massive LA contract. His off field stuff cost him there.

Guys have had drug issues and had that cost them.

But as an act in a game? Framber wins the gold medal and he's lapped the field.

Yeah. It's a shame. Because he's a bonafide ace in terms of stuff.

I see a lot of Mets hype after all the big signings and trades this week. But are they much better than 2025?

Key Losses (2025 fWAR) - 13.5
  • Alonso (3.6)
  • Nimmo (3.0)
  • McNeil (2.3)
  • Diaz (2.0)
  • Mullins (1.3)
  • Rogers (1.3)
Key Additions - 14.8
  • Bichette (3.8)
  • Peralta (3.6)
  • Polanco (2.6)
  • Semien (2.1)
  • Williams (1.4)
  • Robert (1.3)
The SP improves as well as defense (maybe not at 3B), but the bullpen gets worse, and so does the pop.

It depends. Maybe Semien has another good year in him. He tends to mix in some really good seasons and is due for one if he can fight off Father Time. I'd love to see him go off after two down seasons with the Rangers.

We've seen this movie before and the ending is pretty good.

On the flip side, I'm wary of how good Bichette really is. He played in a hitters park and was much better at home.

I can see it now. Volpe bounces 2 balls to him in a single inning. Both are unable to be scooped. The Yankees lose a decisive DS game.

They need Paredes or Donny. Keep pushing Dana.

Red Sox have a ton of young guys who will get better this year and next..they will be fine.

I do want Duran though, so hope they go for Isaac.

Guessing Boston is trying to "win" a potential trade with Houston based on having more perceived leverage with our current IF logjam.
