I obviously don't know the details, but I doubt this is a case of a one dad pulling the wool over a whole chapter's eyes. Other people had to know.

These kids play together a long time before the team is put together for LLWS run.

California, Texas & Southeast/Bama all lose their 1st games.

It seems every team has at least 1 kid throwing 70+ which continues to show the absurdity of keeping 46/60. These are all travel ball kids with pitching/hitting coaches and it shows.

She has said this is probably it for her baseball career and wants to play softball at Oklahoma. She is one of the best players in Williamsport. Why shouldn't she be allowed to play?

She's a fantastic player and is fun as hell to watch.
I'm really hoping she hits the first home run by a girl in LLWS history.
She's come close a few times.

That was fun to watch. It's cool to be able to show my 13 year old girl an example of another girl who's excelling with no one making accomodations for her.

I doubt that girl ever lets someone tell her what she can't do because she's a girl. Absolutely killing it at the top level of competition for her age.

No she shouldn't. Softball is a different sport. There isn't a Little League for Boys and a Little League for Girls. There is just one Little League, and it accepts anyone. If you are good enough, you can make the LLWS, regardless of gender. That's how it should be.

I know you're alluding to travel ball here and most of these US teams are made up of travel ball kids. I get what you are saying that there are some U12 teams that could crush any of these teams but that's only because those teams are by invite only high roller travel teams that pull from bigger geographic regions than are allowed by little league.

But I'd guess that 95% of the kids were watching right now are on a top travel team as well. They just play little league as a cheap local supplement.

Yeah, that's what I assumed. All these kids play on travel teams most of the year, then they join LL with the express purpose is getting to the World Series. They fulfill what ever the minimum requirements are to be eligible, but that's really it. These kids are basically ringers. Your local LL team probably isn't top level, but the teams that make the LLWS are.

The Needville team from a few years back was made up mostly of kids from one select team. At that time, they were a solid AAA team, but a whole class below the top teams in Houston. A few of those kids have turned out to be really good, but their team at that time couldn't compete with major teams in Houston.

Iowa pulled their stud pitcher in the 4th to save him for the weekend. He K'd 10 out of 11 batters he faced. The relievers gave up 14 runs. They may not make it to the weekend now.

He's a Select Fest kid that plays for Pottstown and one of the top select teams in the country. He's going home now though. It's all about lining up your pitching and staying in the winner's bracket.
