Does the league leader of true home runs get a moral victory trophy at the end of the season?

Since the statcast era goes back to 2015 I assume some enterprising soul will go through this retroactively and we'll be able to tell how many of Judge's 62 were true home runs compared to the HRs hit by Maris, Babe, and Mantle which we can't assume were park assisted.

Ruth played in some parks where centerfield was in the next county, and some parks where left field was like 270 feet.

Astros Bingo Updated Through 5-7-25

The 8+W or 6+L streaks seem like the most impossible squares on the board after 36 games.

Back to 81 win pace

Pena up to a 23 HR / 23 SB pace. The last time an Astros shortstop had a 20-20 season was Dickie Thon in 1983 (20/34) the year before his tragic injury. In fact, I think that's the only 20-20 season for an Astros shortstop ever. Pena up to second on the team in OPS at .774, only trailing Joltin' Jake Meyers (.777).

Diaz continues his slow climb back to respectability, now on pace for 72 RBI after adding 2 more yesterday. Last year he finished with 84. He also notched his third GIDP of the year but is only on pace for 14.

Christian Walker down to a 14-HR, 45-RBI pace. I think I'm just going to bag on Christian Walker every day.

Meyers at .297, Altuve at .252. It continues to be Opposite Day.

Framber up to a 9-win pace!

King Tuck and Bregman both on a 38-HR pace. Bregman hit his 9th yesterday. Last year he hit his 9th on June 3 in a flurry of 6 HR in about 12 games.

Mike Trout's games played pace plummets every day he's on the DL, now down to 134.

White Sox get away from the Astros and start losing again, back up to 118-loss pace. By comparison, the 6-29 Rockies are headed for 134 losses.

Ohtani steals a bag, up to 10 HR and 10 SB and on pace for a 44/44 year.

In August, we have four against the Os, three versus the Rockies, and then four versus LAA. That's our best chance for an 8-game win streak. I'm not giving up hope.

Based on current season precedent, I expect us to take 2 of 3 from the Os, get swept by the Rockies, then lose 3 of 4 to the Angels.

When is some team going to believe in Cash Considerations and give him a shot to be an everyday player. That guy gets moved so much, I really feel for his wife and kid.

Can Cash hit LH and play 2B?

To his credit Dana preached this same sentiment last season and was laughed at by many.

Sure enough the team turned it around after their horrendous start and had a pretty good 2nd half.

Getting swept at home in the wild card erased a lot of those good feelings from the great 2nd half IMO. Whether that's fair or not I'm not sure but that's how I feel.

I don't disagree.

But my point still stands. Dana was right last season and hopefully that track record continues this season.

And we all know the regular season and playoffs are completely different animals.

Like I said...Dana took A LOT of flak for his positive outlook last season when they were struggling but regardless of how it ended he was right. They did turn it around.

100%. I also think his optimism comes from being in a weak division… If we were in let's say the NL West or even the AL East his tune might be a little different.

It'll probably play out the same as last year where anywhere between 86-89 wins could win the division. I have confidence we can fall in that win range barring crazy injuries

I definitely think he will end up in LA or New York by the end of year 3 on his rookie deal

Remember how little they got for Cole? The people of Pittsburg will riot when they trade Skenes for 3 future paint salesmen.

Even if they got 3 or 4 future stars they would just turn around and trade all of them, too. Terrible organization

Cole was all potential and little success. Skenes is an elite talent that's preforming at a very high level. A package for Skenes would be insane. Think whatever the Padres gave up for Soto times 2.

I thought the AL West had the best record outside their division of any division so far this season.

Its May. If your GM isn't blowing blind optimism up your skirt he isn't doing his job. Sometimes he will be right, sometimes he will be wrong but in either case his public "opinion" is meaningless.

the end matters though

2024 was the Astros earliest playoff round exit since missing the playoffs in 2016
