Carlos' contract is a huge problem
the Astros taking on $50 MM or more for the next 3 seasons would cancel the payroll relief
coming from Jose Abreu dropping off the payroll after this season ($20 MM)...and Lance dropping off after 2026 ($17 MM)
the front office needs payroll flexibility

Funny, Baseball Trade Value has Yainer as more valuable than those 2. Cease and Suarez make serious money and will likely be rentals. Yainer is cheap and under control.

That would mean Carlos is more like 17 M per year. I think it can get worked out with the Twins chipping in 25-35 M range. That makes Carlos a 22-25 M dollar player.

Paying Carlos $17M/year is a lot for his current level of performance

He's had 57 starts in the majors at 2B. His fielding percentage is really good, but his range is not.

Agree. We should not give up on Yainer, that would be a disaster imho
As much as I would love Correa back it doesn't seem to make sense. If Paredes at 2B was such a disaster, then you have nowhere to put CC next season. Unless he would move to the OF but that seems unlikely.
