Used to listen to him all the time back when I was a kid visiting family in Milwaukee.

If you've never read his autobiography and you're a baseball fan, you're doing yourself a huge disservice. Laugh out loud funny from start to finish.

I'm sure anyone of a certain age or older has gone to a ball park or stadium and commented, "I must be in the front rooowww" or "Good seats, eh buddy?" or "He missed the tag" (while in the cheap seats) due to Uecker and his Lite ad.

This one hurts. Life well lived.

Yep, both "Must be in the front row!" and "Just a bit outside!" have been a staple in my house for many decades.

Also, whenever my team is reasonably deep into a game and still only has 1 hit, "One hit? That's all we got? One g**damned hit?" is also a staple

Glad I never had to pay him royalties for every time I said one of those 3 phrases

He has the best seats in the house now. He was one-of-a-kind.

In 1965, when Sandy Koufax went 26-8 with a 2.04 ERA, 2 saves, and then then-strikeout record of 382, Bob Uecker was 6 for 16 against him (.400) with a double and a home run.

Pretty funny article about the HR

https://shepherdexpress.com/sports/brewers/day-uecker-took-koufax-deep/

He hit exactly .200 for his career with 0 career steals and 0 career triples.

His hall of fame induction speech was hilarious. Would link the YouTube but don't know how. Worth a listen to make you laugh.

Nice little interview with him on CBS Sunday Morning just this past October. He truly was Mr. Baseball.
