Either no more SP are getting in after JV, Kershaw, Scherzer, & Greinke or the 200 win bar is going away. Maybe Cole gets there. After that who? Morton or Sale? 138. Darvish? 110. Nola and Wheeler? 104 and 103. DeGrom, Snell, Fried, Castillo, Eovaldi, Bieber, Burnes, Valdez, etc. all under 100.

Assume we trade both, but we must cover 2 M of Pressly. We get 18 M off the books.

243.8 - 18 = 225.8.

If we want to stay under with some room to play (5M) then we would only have 10.2 M to use for free agents.

10.2 = low-end reliever and a Gamel type OFer.

But 10.2 M would be perfect for say... Brendan Donovan at 3-4 M in Arb plus that low end reliever.

That stretch for Pressly in the postseason (2021 WS to 2023 ALCS) of 20 straight appearances without an earned run makes him an Astros legend IMO.

CC is a weird case. He had an ace stint from 2006-2012. Before and after he was just an innings eater. Normally you think of a guy as one or the other (dominant but not long enough or pitched forever without being great).

The hall of fame voting is always so weird to me.

Like Wagner voted in during his 10th year on the ballot. If he was good enough to be a HOF, why wasn't he just voted in when he joined the ballot? I can't stand this mentality of we have to wait a few years before we all give him enough votes.

Totally agree. All the proof anyone needs is to watch other regional broadcasts. It's amazing how many three legged dogs are calling baseball. Just start with trying to listen to an Arlington broadcast.

I would hope so. He's the 4th best SP over the last 15ish years. After him, there is Cole and DeGrom (injury king) After Cole? Huge step down for overall career.

He's in or we're only adding 3 more SP for the rest of time.
