Flew back to Houston this morning, unfortunately. Have fun out there! It was our first time at Spring Training and had a great time.

I think I'm going to go maybe next year or 2027. Seems like a fun time

It's just hard because I can usually only talk the wife into one Astros road trip and one Aggie road trip per year and I'm trying to see a new MLB park every season.

Man, if Pena can keep this up that's going be a huge boost to our lineup

Yup, we REALLY need for the Stros to be good. It's looking grim for the Ags but I keep telling myself once we get Sorrell back, oh who am I kidding, I'm sure he's done for the year too.

Look at you guys. Sucked into another Aggie sports team.

Those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it.

Old guys who make cool jersey designs know stuff.

After the Jimbo debacle I decided I'd keep an eye and an ear on Aggie sports and watch as my time allowed rather than living and dying with them every weekend like I used to do.

It's been an overall positive.

Being an Aggie sports fan is just a constant kick in the nuts.

Wise man. I live in Aggieland and it's on every time I turn on the news. They always suck me in. Life was way less stressful when I lived in Kemah, except for hurricane season.

After the Ags gave up the grand slam, I turned it off. Told the wife we're not watching until they get better this year. Call me a 2%er or whatever.

Upside is that baseball tix will be easier to get.

We booked it last minute but were able to find a reasonably priced Airbnb on the water in WPB that was about a 15-minute drive to the ballpark. Access to the players is pretty unbelievable. Being able to see them practice up close is awesome and most of them are very personable with the fans. Dubon and Meyers, especially, really took their time with everyone...having conversations, taking pictures, etc.

We only went to 2 practices/games, but were able to get signatures from and photos with Atuve, Yordan, Dubon, Chas, Jake, Framber, Hader, Cam Smith, Christian Walker, Brendan Rogers, Big Jon, Ronel Blanco, Bryan Abreu, Joe Espada, Loperfido, Trammell, plus some others I can't remember.

It helped a lot that my wife speaks Spanish and that my daughter was there. Altuve and Alvarez were only signing for kids. My daughter was able to get both their signatures on her Altuve and Alvarez jerseys right at the end of practice on our last day. The day before, Altuve signed and gave his bat to the boy standing right next to her. It was awesome to see, but she was obviously a little bummed it wasn't her. However, she was ecstatic when she finally got him to sign her jersey.

Well after all my talk the other direction, I went ahead and used a waiver to claim Cam Smith in my new Yahoo baseball league last night.
