Is his ego bruised that his agent didn't manage to get him a better deal at all? Oh well, that's the risk. Man up and move on. You're getting paid like $250M over the course of your career. You getting a fair deal doesn't mean you're screwing over future players.

I think y'all are making it more complicated than it is. Bregman/Boras came into the of free season expecting 180-200 M with options. The offers were no where close.

My theory is Alex/Boras are kinda hoping Alonso ends up somewhere other than the Mets, at which point they hope Uncle Steve backs up the Brinks truck for Alex.

It sucks we lost one of the best strike/ball callers in the game but I get their strict stance on betting. Hoberg threw away his career for this. Not many people get to do what he does and he absolutely deserves to be fired. MLB umps have to be held to a higher standard when gambling is involved.
