Bet he would like idea of Boston if they paid him what he wants.

Problem is no one will.

If Astros have the best offer, I don't understand what he's waiting on exactly.

Is his ego bruised that his agent didn't manage to get him a better deal at all? Oh well, that's the risk. Man up and move on. You're getting paid like $250M over the course of your career. You getting a fair deal doesn't mean you're screwing over future players.

Boras can go cry in his vault of money as well.

If Breggy wanted to stay in Houston then this would be done. Any other offer he has can't be much more than what we offered.

I don't things Bregman knows what he wants, apart from $400 mil

I think y'all are making it more complicated than it is. Bregman/Boras came into the of free season expecting 180-200 M with options. The offers were no where close.

Bregman knows where his swing plays best and what cities he prefers. I think it's Houston & Boston >>> Toronto & Detroit. Chicago is somewhere in the middle.

At this point trying to leverage a Toronto offer to get more from Boston & Houston has failed. Bregman is trusting Boras to pull a rabbit out of his ass because he's 54 M short from the expectation.

My theory is Alex/Boras are kinda hoping Alonso ends up somewhere other than the Mets, at which point they hope Uncle Steve backs up the Brinks truck for Alex.

It sucks we lost one of the best strike/ball callers in the game but I get their strict stance on betting. If there's even a slight chance that he was a gambling addict you can't take that risk.

Now here is why I once again say BRING ON THE ROBO UMPS!!!! Ball/strike calling is the last area that umpires can truly impact the game with no accountability and if there is even a tiny chance they are betting on the game that's unacceptable.

BRING THEM ON NOW!!!!

Jose should just take a pay cut so Alex can get his measly 3-4 million more a year. Problem solved.

Hoberg threw away his career for this. Not many people get to do what he does and he absolutely deserves to be fired. MLB umps have to be held to a higher standard when gambling is involved.

and even still have lay third base.
If Bregman does sign with another team then Altuve will always be the greatest Astro in my book. Jose lobbied for The team to do everything they can to sign Bregman and even offered to move positions to allow him to play third base.
He already is
