Weird sequence in that Ohtani strikeout. I'm not sure what that hand motion Alvarez does means. I think Ohtani thought it was a balk? He's confused about something. pic.twitter.com/DPMuY3zAUG

Uh that reaction from Ohtani after he struck out…

Looked like he got crossed up by the dugout after they thought they had found a tip or something
Say Orioles don't retain Corbin Burnes. 2 logical SP Targets Sandy Alcántara and Framber Valdez. Reunion with Kyle Gibson logical. Say Corbin Burnes requires 7-$245M v. Santander 6-$132M... resign Tony & move a combination of Mounty / Kjerstad / Prospects for an Arm (Valdez).

He bet the over on his pitch count for that at-bat and wasn't sure he hit the total.Mathguy64 said:
Dodgers were cheating and his hidden buzzer gave him the wrong info. Nothing to see. Move along.
My guess is they'd rather move O'Hearn than Mountcastle, which should work for us as we need a lefty 1B option. It otherwise makes a lot of sense. I'm a proponent of doing a deal like that and resigning Kooch.Farmer1906 said:

I don't see the O's doing that for one year of Framber. They gave up less for Burnes, who is generally viewed as the better player. If you wanted to get funky they are a perfect fit for Yordan where you could get Holliday, Hjerstad and one of Mayo or Basallo. That wouldn't be popular but the reality is Altuve is a DH being stuffed at 2B and it's only going to get worse.Ag4life80 said:
Framber for Holliday? Framber is a top tier starter for the last 3 years. Orioles need a front line guy badly.
Proven commodities come with a high price tag
Probably in the minority here, but I'd personally be in favor of getting a huge haul of young talent from the O's, even if it's for Framber, Yordan, and/or Tucker. We need good, young talent that could eventually be cornerstone pieces for the future. Remember when we had a young Breggy, Correa, Springer, etc.MaxPower said:I don't see the O's doing that for one year of Framber. Way too rich. 1 year of Framber ain't gonna fetch that.Ag4life80 said:

The problem is that the Os took the young talent route, and so far, it has earned them two playoff appearances with zero games in the division series. Taking on the pieces they're willing to part with for 3 of the best players in baseball seems like a poor strategy.Wabs said:Probably in the minority here, but I'd personally be in favor of getting a huge haul of young talent from the O's, even if it's for Framber, Yordan, and/or Tucker. Whenever I waffle with this, I think of Joe Kelly's smug ass little face. Then I say "Go Yankees!".Farmer1906 said:

We did not get nothing for them. We got their play on the field for as long as we could and well as comp picks. Do you think we make the CS in 2020 without Springer? The WS in 2021 without Correa? The postseason at all in 2024 without Bregman?Wabs said:
I'm thinking more in terms of 2026 and beyond rather than next season. I'd rather get talent for the assets we have (especially Tucker and Framber) before we lose them and get nothing like we did with Correa and Springer (and now probably Bregman).
Mets are a distant 3rd out of the remaining 4.Mathguy64 said:Farmer1906 said:

It's not that hard.
Just repeat after me. "****. The. Dodgers."
If they make it that's the choice to hate. If they don't, then hate the Mets.
But the first one is easy.

I am hearing that Minute Maid is removing their name from the Houston baseball stadium.

Rumor is it will become "Daikin Park" for 2025 and beyond. Daikin is the world's largest air conditioner manufacturer, HQ in Japan.

isn't the Daikin plant in Waller something like one of the biggest Sheetmetal structures, or concrete slabs in the state or united states? I could have swore I heard something about when it was built that it was one of a kind in something of that nature?

Hard to make that make sense for any brand that isn't selling internationally.
