JV alone probably struck the duo out at least 10 times

Astros pitchers contributed to both Judge's and Bellinger's K numbers.

Impossible… Astros only won because we cheated. There's no way our pitching was any good right?

Tigers the team of destiny this year?

I think that'll be the Padres

Either one is fine with me over the alternatives
I'm rooting against the Tigers. Out of the AL, I want the Royals for Yuli's sake. I'd be ok with Cleveland too.

From the NL, I want anyone but the Dodgers.

Royals doing what they needed to do -- take home field advantage.

Tigers too.

Judge's infield single was the highlight of the game by the way.

Mostly pulling for the Royals because of Wacha and Yuli.

Would not mind if Cleveland won the whole thing since they have not won a World Series since 1948.

Because it set up Stanton's "Not His Fault" double play.

I'd like to see a Royals/Padres WS. Royals with Wacha and my man Yuli. Padres because **** the Dodgers.

Will Smith is on the royals

Could he do the impossible? 4 straight WS titles with 4 different teams

I don't like how many of the Friar's act on the field but it is fun to see their approach at the plate.

Costas' arc from Mr. NBC and Mr. Olympics to awful make my ears bleed announcer is one of the greater falls in announcer kingdom I can remember. It's similar to Keith Olberman for me…

For all the hate Joe Buck got, I didn't mind him at all for the playoffs, relative to all the other national folks anyway…

Well, now an additional reason to root for the Royals!

Padres are the clear choice for me in the NL. I'm good with Detroit or KC in the AL. I'm half hoping for Detroit since I'll be there in a couple weeks…

If the royals make the world series, it will be the 4th year in a row that a Gurriel has played in the world series. Same is true for an LCS bid.

Pretty sure you mean Will Smith. The Marlins went out in the Wild Card round last year.

Agree on the Royals. But as far as Cleveland goes, they can spend another 100 years in baseball purgatory for the Guardian thing.

Yuli's brother played for the dbacks in the WS last year. I meant his family.

Man Bob Costas had himself a rough night.

This is just awful all around. From the clear bias, to the just downright abysmal call of a great play, to the weird excuse making. No reason this guy should be on TV.

Also had an awkward hot mic moment.

4 straight WS titles and being not used in 2 of them.

Would like to see Royals over Yankees to showcase that Witt should be the clear cut AL MVP even though we all know the media is on Judge's jock 24/7.

Be like the year they gave it to Robinson over Hakeem, or basically every year anyone but Jordan won it and then he whipped them in the Finals - Malone, Barkley.

Costas is straight garbage. He's been a has been for longer than he was a good announcer.

BTW, found out yesterday that Twitter legend Ben Dubose no longer covers the Astros because he got banned from the clubhouse.

If you want to see some glorious tears, check out his feed from our game. He went to Mizzou and repeats the phrase "losing 21 points to cheating" throughout a long rant.

Any idea what he did to get banned from the Astros clubhouse?

It doesn't seem that clear cut to me. Judge has a higher slugging %, higher OBP, higher OPS, more RBIs, way more HRs, higher WAR. Witt has a higher batting average

From an ESPN article this morning, it appears the Yankees are back to blaming lady luck for post-season losses:

"It still feels the same, that we're going to win [the series]," Yankees third baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. said. "I don't feel like anybody feels any different. We're going to go out there and do our thing still. We still don't feel like any team is better than us. We had a]lot of missed opportunities tonight so they just got lucky."

Yankees drop Game 2 to Royals but still confident with ALDS tied - ESPN

Also - I haven't watched any post-season baseball yet, but the Dodgers/Padres series seems to be heating up with chripiness, so I'm going to be in.

Judge just had one of the greatest offensive seasons of all time. Bobby was fantastic and would deserve the MVP in many other years, just not 2024.

Judge is definitely one the best regular season players in MLB history. He's had some historically great regular seasons.

Aaron Judge will win the MVP because he's lucky enough to play in a Mickey Mouse stadium with a short RF porch and power alley that's made more extreme by the jet stream to RF. And possibly getting the benefit of special baseballs given to the team at home by MLB.

Lucky guy.

I was told the players weren't so cool with his long anti-Astro twitter rants. When subbing for another writer one game, he was confronted by a player (I really don't know who) in the clubhouse and went deer in the headlights.

Whoever the Astros media liason person was witnessed it, asked the player about it, got confirmation from several other players, and that's all she wrote.
