Chas AB looked different today. He was a little late in the fast ball but he swung at good pitches and battled. 2024 Chas was completely lost, todays Chas wasn't and I'd be fine with him starting.

Porkstradamus says either 8-3 or 11-3 today, good guys.
Those 2 numbers were both clear in my fuzzy brain when the alarm went off at 525 AM
Let's beat that motown ass today

after his 0 for 4 in game 1...
Tucker's postseason OPS is .691
Bagwell's postseason OPS was .685

I get your point. But again, of the six ABs I called out, four of them ended (early) on a pitch that was either borderline or not a strike. They weren't just "swinging at strikes." They made bad contact because they hit a bad pitch.

If we win today I think its more likely we turn to the Koochie tomorrow, and then have our full compliment of pitchers in the pen ready to go

Well if we lose today the decision is even easier…
I'd take a hit or two from our right fielder. That would be pretty cool.W said:

Let's see the boom sticks engage tonight for the Astros offense.
Yusei Kikuchi said he was told “a few days ago” that he may be used in Game 2. He’s available out of the bullpen today, but would start Game 3 tomorrow if one happens

Tucke, Diaz, and Caratini (if in the lineup) have to be the guys who step up, because I think Altuve, Yordan, and Bregman will be on base. Especially Diaz and Caratini batting 5-6. They are going to have opportunities with the guys in front of them. Caratini, assuming he plays, can't miss fastballs down the pipe today.07ag said:need a big hit from anyone anywhere in the orderW said:

edit: yesterday's risp opportunities: tucker, pena, caratini(2x), heyward did nothing. bregman got an infield single to advance a runner, diaz singled to drive in the 1 run, pena sac bunt, mccormick walk.
got to have some clutch hitting somewhere
The worst thing about the Altuve chart above is the one off the plate came in I believe the 6th inning after the Astros had put some pitches on Skubal in the 4th and 5th. Dubon and Jake see like 4 pitches between them both and Altuve first pitches swings at that junk off the plate. That alone may have given Skubal one more inning.Farmer1906 said:Beau Holder said:

Yup, just Jose. Neither were good pitches to attack. Our leader has to do better.
