Seattle is now dormi. They are 2.5 back and they have 3 to play while Detroit and KC have 4.

Seattle needs to sweep and pray. No way Detroit falters. They are red hot and get the CWS. No amount of prayer in the world is going to help there. Seattle needs to pray KC goes into Atlanta and somehow in the rain and wind Atlanta sweeps KC

The Braves and Mets will end up playing a meaningful DH that Monday. And then after playing 2 immediately get on a plane to go play a WC game the next day.

That should be entertaining.

Speaking of last night, my son has gotten into the habit of asking players for random stuff as they're walking off the field. He picked it up from watching older kids. Doesn't bug them or anything, just throws out a random request. Anyway, he was standing by the rail last night after the game and Jordan Lawlar walked by. My son asked him if he could have his hat, Lawlar said sure and took it off. My son asked him if he could sign it. he said sure and did.

(After the final game of last season, he got a hat from SL pitcher Joe Record. My wife thought it was awesome until she saw that Record had previously written "Bad M*ther F*cker" in sharpie inside of it.)

I had a friend that graduated from Sam and is the most obnoxious sip t-shirt fan on the earth. Always wearing sip gear, talking **** in person and constantly posting sip and anti-Aggie stuff on FB. I used to comment on his anti-Aggie posts and say "how did Sam do this weekend?". He got pissed and "unfriended" me. LOL. Oh No! What will I do?

Some people....

Yeah, I can't be friends with people like that. Their behavior represents a character flaw.

And it never fails that the handful of folks I'm really good friends with who went to tu are all actually really solid people and not obnoxious.

the Red Sox were officially eliminated from the playoffs yesterday

3rd year-in-a-row to miss the postseason

should be in the market for a new manager

Boston has already tried the fire-the-GM approach

(Chaim was let go after the 2023 season)

I expect Seattle to fire their GM this offseason.

Yep, my friends that actually went to tu are for the most part good people and none of them are anywhere near as obnoxious as the t-shirts I know. It's not that these people fanatically support tu, but they seem to be overly obsessed with bashing A&M just as much. It's strange and demented, and honestly just sad and pathetic.

Best case scenario is that they have to burn Skubal on Sunday to get in. He'd be available in game 3 of the Wild Card with 3 days rest.

Prop Joe might be the most narcissistic poster on all of TexAgs. Or it might be infectionAg. They both live in their own reality. Perfect examples of Ranger fans.

It's why they are so desperate to frame division titles and ALCS appearances as a "dynasty".
By his logic, the 90's Braves were NOT a dynasty because they only won a single World Series.
Just know that if the rangerettes had the same success we've had since 2015 he would be crowing his ass off and would scoff at any Houston fan not recognizing their dominance.

He wanted to take it to school the next day. My wife somehow talked him out of it. I'm not sure he even realized what was written in it.

Haven't done it since our last series with them, personally. Good Q. They reverted to the pumpkin they are and big brother's train keeps rolling, not sure what they have to do with anything.

Really want the Tigers to have to burn Skubal so we need the Twins to keep winning too, no?

Det would still need to lose at least 2 games.

Added:

Need Det to lose tonight and hope ChiSox can win one of 3 (2 would be even better but that's crazy talk).

Need Balt to win tonight, sweeping NYY. That will lock them into the 4 seed and therefore may rest everybody against Minnesota.

Need Minnesota to sweep their last 4 games.

Need KC to keep pace with Det.
All I do is Nguyen

Or they keep winning and lock up the 5. I want KCR in the 6 seed.

Clinched
Baltimore Orioles (88-70): +4 games

In right now:
Detroit Tigers (84-74)
Kansas City Royals (84-74)

In the hunt
Minnesota Twins (82-76): 2 GB
Seattle Mariners (82-77): 2.5 GB

Let me see if I can find the scenarios.

DIVISION-BY-DIVISION BREAKDOWN
AL EAST
New York Yankees (92-66). Clinched a playoff spot. Can clinch No. 1 seed and wild-card-round bye with a win over the visiting Orioles in the finale of a three-game series on Thursday.

Baltimore Orioles (88-70). Clinched a playoff spot. Four games behind New York in the division after beating the Yankees 9-7 on Wednesday, with both teams having four games to play. Four games up on the Royals and Tigers with a magic number of one to seal at least the top wild card.

AL CENTRAL
Cleveland Guardians (92-67). Clinched division title. Trail the Yankees by a half-game for the best record in the AL. Beat the visiting Cincinnati Reds 5-2 on Wednesday to sweep a two-game series.

Kansas City Royals (84-74). Tied with the Tigers for the second and third wild-card spots (Kansas City owns the tiebreaker). Both teams are two games ahead of the Minnesota Twins and 2 1/2 games up on the Seattle Mariners. Earned a 3-0 road win over the Washington Nationals on Wednesday, with one game left in the series.

Detroit Tigers (84-74). Tied with the Royals for the second and third wild-card spots (Kansas City owns the tiebreaker). Both teams are two games ahead of the Minnesota Twins and 2 1/2 games up on the Seattle Mariners. Posted a 7-1 home win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday, with one game left in the series.

Minnesota Twins (82-76). Two games behind the Royals and Tigers, who hold the final two AL playoff spots, after beating the visiting Miami Marlins 8-3 on Wednesday in the middle game of a three-game series.

AL WEST
Houston Astros (86-73). Clinched division title and locked into the No. 3 seed in the AL playoffs. Fell 8-1 to the Mariners on Wednesday in the decisive game of a three-game series. After a day off on Thursday, close the regular season with three games at Cleveland.

Seattle Mariners (82-77). Trail the Royals and Tigers by 2 1/2 games for the final two wild-card spots after winning 8-1 in the finale of a three-game series at Houston on Wednesday. After a day off on Thursday, finish the regular season with a three-game set against the visiting Oakland A's.

Little off-day food for thought exercise

Who reaches their milestone?

JV with 300 Ws or Josie with 3k hits...Both, one, or neither?

I think Jose gets 3k and JV falls short of 300 Ws.

JV won't even get a little close. Jose has a chance, but I think he ultimately falls a little short.

Jose has to average 154 a year over the next 5. I think he can do that for another 2-3 years, but I think the final 2-3 years will doom him.

Yup agree, neither hits their respective milestones but Jose comes much closer than JV, who might be completely done but we hope we're wrong (if it's pitching for us of course).
