I think JV will get a start, but we really need to have fully rested piggyback. Things can spiral quick and early with him. I hope to not see Ferguson or Scott at all but we may not be able to avoid it.

If JV is right (big if)

Framber/HB. Matchup dictates who starts 1/2

Kikuchi with Either Ronel or Arrighetti in a tandem. I like Ron White. Different speed and other arm. Arrighetti doesn't make the cut and I want an extra arm in the pen who is used to that role.

Yeah - I actually took that completely the opposite way - it shows just how much more important pitching is than offense.

The Rangers had some historically great offensive teams, but the pitching was so poor they didn't even sniff the post-season.

The Mariners are 25th in OPS this season and 1st in ERA and are in the hunt for the postseason. They're only 3 games out of WC at this point.

I'll be shocked if JV is left off the roster, and I think there could be a clubhouse revolt if that happens. I understand, from just a recent performance perspective, why someone would want him left off. But I just don't see that happening. I think he gets a start at some point. Just hope we have a fully rested arm to back him up.

2024 Mariners are 52-4 when they score 5 or more runs

2019 Astros were 71-11

I think the wins scale up quickly with a better offense. League average probably doesn't have a huge impact but if the Mariners had a league leading offense that's a 110+ win team

I agree. I'd just hate to have to face them in the playoffs. I want the division locked up before the series with them if that's even possible.
