I figured as much as responded since no one else had at that point.
The Mariners were swept by the Dodgers, failed to gain ground on the Astros for a second straight night and have dropped 8 of 9.

They remain 5 games back in the AL West despite being 10 up on June 18.
Since then, they have a lower OPS than every team except the White Sox.

Lets go Dodgers!
You're assuming Yordan can play LF everyday and not get hurtMathguy64 said:
If he's healthy enough to swing a bat but can't field a position he is the DH and Yordan the full time LFer.
Playing Bregman at a position he's never played before in 1B isn't doing anyone any good. We have already seen guys make errors there the last two weeks just because it's a new position. He doesn't know the footwork, the ball will have 100% opposite spin from 3B, he's nit used to taking throws. It's just not a drag and drop position.

Guys on 790 are suggesting Bregman at 1st base.
I feel like it's easier said than done, but if that could happen, that would solve a lot of issues

Pretty sure Altuve is the only one on the 25 man roster that we haven't had a discussion about playing 1B.
I would rather Yordan play a big field than Bregman play a position hes never played at.bearkatag15 said:Mathguy64 said:

This weekend presents an issue with Yordan as your full time LFer. It's the biggest LF in the MLB

Speaking of 1B, Big Jon could have used a buddy system.
LHP: .149/.219/.224 z(yes that is an OPS of .443 in 67 AB), 28 K, 1 HR, wRC+ 29
RHP: .259/.345/.412 in 228 AB, 10 HR, 31 RBI, 30 BB, 67 K, wRC+ 116
The right move is Jon against RHP and Yainer against LHP. Its not hard.
Wrote about Yordan Alvarez, and not just because he's an all-time great. (He is an all-time great.)

But because of two oddly interesting things:
⚔️He has 0 swords against him, not 1, a huge rarity
⚾️ He makes defenses play worse // -18 OAA last 2 yr

That is weird. No doubt he has the bat for itProject Gemini said:Ag_07 said:

I dont think we've discussed Chas yet.
Hes not just a platoon player. Hes a well above average LHH. Hes not an All Star, but those numbers put him somewhere between the 5th and 10the best 1B in MLB. Hes basically Josh Naylor. I would take that all day long. He needs to get every AB he can get against RHP.Farmer1906 said:Mathguy64 said:

I have been preaching this all year. Singleton is a platoon player. We need a RHH to pair with him. JD Davis & Garrett Cooper were both available multiple times. Both in Baltimore's AAA system now. We could have traded for Canha on the cheap. He's gonna 127 wRC+ vs LHP.
If we're comfortable with Diaz there and Caratini catching then I'm all for it. Maybe mix Dezenzo there too if we believe in him.
