Just using the chart Farmer posted and comparing it to Dubon's metrics:

40% ground balls and only 31% pull

Yordan is 33% and 36%
Altuve is 41% and 57%
Tucker is 29% and 43%
Yainer is an outlier at 50% ground balls, 40% pull

Dubon also has the lowest barrel and hard hit % on the Astros

modest goal for Kikuchi today ---> 6 innings & 3 runs

The more I'm looking at the batted ball metrics and statcast stuff for Astros batters, I'm wondering if Chas is both stinking and unlucky.

5th best barrel %, 5th highest launch angle, 4th highest average exit velocity...but his expected average, slugging and weighted on-base are all higher than his actuals. I mean, his expected numbers are all still last or 2nd to last, but maybe a few more hits here and there feel a lot different for him, and us?

edit: Those are season totals above. Recently he can't lift the ball, barrel it or hit it hard

Teams have figured him out. They know to stay away from the outside half and POUND him inside. Now all he gets is a healthy dose of inside pitches many not even strikes and all he does is hack away no matter what.

Sure enough in that same AB he struck out on a pitch a few inches in that he didn't stand a chance on hitting.

I am not so sure that is true. Location-wise, teams are attacking him in similar ways to 2023. He is just doing less and less with the inside/middle pitches.
