I don't know if Crane was behind that one or not. In general, don't extend pitchers before free agency and don't sign any to more than a couple years. Rarely does it work out. Interestingly that's exactly what we have done with Framber. Stay the course and let someone else pay for what he's done rather than what he will do.

Click was the GM at the time and I have a hard time believing he made that deal. He's a boras client and boras likes dealing directly with owners

Two more years on the Lance contract.

McCullers, Abreu, and Montero represent around $48.7 million of our payroll next season.

The LT threshold next season is $241 million, so over 20% of the under LT payroll is tied up in players that can't play or that hurt us when they did. We're getting a taste of life without Tucker too.

We desperately need a GM who can spend Crane's money wisely and Crane to allow him to do so.

I hope he rehabs and makes HEB commercials for as long as he's willing to do it. Here's to him coming back in '25 and being a stud reliever. God knows we need one.
