But 2024 YK isn't the same guy his entire career. Pitch usage has changed (newish curve, more 4 seam than most season). He's gotten more spinny. And somehow his velo has ticked up just a hair.

What the price for Flaherty was? Whether getting an innings-eater for just Bloss was intended to preserve a bit of prospect capital for one more move?

I can imagine the very level-headed people on this thread tonight would be quite pleased if we rolled through the trade deadline with Brown, a fading Blanco, and two rookies with ERAs over 5 along with a bunch of hopes and dreams about JV, Garcia, and LMJ.
I don't necessarily want brown fired over this but I never wanted him hired to begin with.
He's a 30 year advanced scout which is basically all he's ever done which should tell you all you need to know about 30 other MLBs thoughts on his ability to run a baseball team. He's not an analytics guy and always shoots from the hip on "gut feel" more than advanced metrics. It was a bad fit and dumb hire and he's way in over his head and it shows.
I've yet to see the guy make one sharp/baseball savvy move we routinely saw from previous GMs. Rather just runs his trap about how we are definitely close to a deal with Tucker and other similar talk that never transpires
