Do the Blue Jays have any SP depth pieces to tack on to Vladdy? I'd love that for us so much. Sooner rather than later. I'm sure the Jays will want to fully examine his market and wait to increase pressure.

Houston has talked with Toronto about Gausman and Romano but this was before Romano went down. Haven't heard anything on Gausman recently.

So Fizz for Vlad?

There are two things that could help in the pursuit of Vlad. First he's due the prorated portion of $20M this year and will get $25+ million next year. Only so many teams are willing to take that on, so that likely rules out the AL Central clubs and the Brewers. Second, he's a bat only 1B / DH. The Mariners and Yanks will be interested but contenders like the Phils, Orioles, Braves, Pads, and Dodgers can't make that work. Even the Yanks don't want to cross the next tax threshold and are in the division so that seems unlikely. The M's are the main competition but only having a two horse race helps us out. If the Jays are willing to eat the remainder of his 2024 salaries then that would widen the pool of interested parties.
