I wish we had a player in the minors who could rotate all the outfield positions and first base. Somebody who preferably bats lefty with some speed and power that could provide a spark and the team would play well while he's up

Don't know where we could possibly find that though…
What does that have to do with a leadoff jack?

BTW, Joey has struck out 10 times in his last 20 AAA ABs. He's not the savior he's made out to be.

Was more talking about the conversations earlier about how to improve the team.

Also Joey was very productive while he was up. That's all I care about

Trading the key players for 2024 and 2025 will not fix 24 and 25. There is no guarantee it fixes things in 26 and 27.
Trading key guys will not fix 24, but candidly it appears nothing will so that's irrelevant. Then you're down to 2025 wondering if it's realistic a below .500 team that loses Bregman and has a year older JV is going to realistically turn it around.

No guarantee it fixes things by '26 or '27, but would put us in a better position than standing pat or trading even more of whatever little potential we have in the minors, no?

Do you see us competing in realistic way next year? This year...well...lol.

We still have about a 1/3 shot of the postseason. Even if we don't then we have the offseason to try to fix things. If you decide to sell then 2025 will be an abject failure and I think the long term future will be to with the people in charge. We waste the rest of the time we have Altuve, Javier, & Yordan. No trust in Brown & Crane means any rebuild is likely to fail in my eyes at least at this point in time.

Five batters- a hit, a walk, 0-2 with RISP... and 18 total pitches. Where have we seen this approach before?

I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

Possibly.

I trusted Jeff. I trusted Click with Jeff's leftovers. I don't trust Brown with Crane's overreach and aging core.

Can anybody pinpoint when our plate approach became super aggressive, first-pitch swing heavy? Maybe I'm misremembering, but 2017-2019 we worked counts, ran SP PC early to get to the BP, and usually did the most significant damage against those weaker BP arms.

Altuve I can live with being that way, but Jake Meyers? Really? Why are you swinging first pitch?

Farmer's gonna come along and point out his OPS on first pitch swings, which is fine WHEN IT WORKS OUT. When it doesn't, not only are you giving away the out but the opportunity to make the pitcher work harder longer.

I agree here. We've seen no real evidence that the Brown and Crane combo can be successful together.

Not that I want us to rush ourselves back to the dark ages, but I worry that selling more will delay any potential rebuild. Maybe we bring in someone besides Brown who can be successful in that kind of role by '26 or '27?

We also claimed click sucked and didn't make any meaningful moves and most positives are only obvious now after he's gone.

Most GM's aren't evident good or bad right away.

Fair enough on whether you trust those to properly rebuild. I do think Dana would have more control in trades. I just don't see Crane, Bags or Reggie being in the weeds enough to have an opinion on prospects to acquire. Really I don't think Bags likes the heat he is getting from fans and is looking to distance himself.

Maybe we should adopt Leganes and add them to this discussion thread? Might at least offer some fresh meat to complain about... haha.

Who claimed that? I think most of us here were generally pretty happy with his moves. (I may be forgetting a key topic, though)

I don't really remember thinking Click sucked. We were underwhelmed at first with some of the moves, but Luhnow's shoes were huge to try to fill coming off 2017 and 2019. But we see now to our detriment that big-name watershed acquisitions don't always work out.

I do remember feeling pissed off about how he was treated after 2022, really unsure whether essentially forcing him out was a wise move after winning g the WS.
