This loss is 100% on espada. Fire his sorry ass immediately if they care about winning this year

Why Press is still getting the 8th inning is beyond me. He sucks now with his 5+ ERA, and he has at least 5-6 L's directly attributed to him at this point.

We'd be within a game or so of the division lead if Pressley didn't blow this bad now

They're not going to win this year, and I don't think they care either.

I actually got my hopes up after yesterday's win...I should have known better. This ain't our year and I hope it doesn't mean a rebuild but wouldn't surprise me.

5-14 in 1 run games

Maaaaan this team is not playing good baseball. But according to our manager they're playing so much better.

Every RBI for the Twins today came from the three guys who are prime candidates to get optioned to the minors when Royce Lewis comes back on Tuesday to help the Twins get swept by the Yankees.

Because hey, got to stay on the team to get a free trip to New York City.

I have to keep telling myself your record in one run games has an element of luck. Maybe that bodes well for a 2025 turn around but we're running out of runway for water to find its level.

Seattle has a cake matchup again with the Angels today and have been rumored to be in on the Jays players if they selloff.

The mariners series last week was the dagger in this team's chances this season.

It's over. Twins series further cements it. Statistically it's highly unlikely to recover from this.

We're just a bad team. Good on paper in a few metrics, totally bipolar and inconsistent otherwise.

Team needs to get back to driving decisions based on data, not back of the baseball card and jeff bagwell feels.

We should be sellers.

to be fair it took a miracle to make the playoffs last season.

If a team is enamored with him I'd trade him. Target Adames this offseason. Better offensively and defensively.

It's just a really good case study in being careful what you wish for when you've been successful doing things one way for so long and then you decide to change.

Maybe Dusty knew better than we did on Chas and Diaz not being ready to be 140-game guys. Maybe his style of resting guys was smarter than having Tucker, Altuve, Pena, and Alvarez all playing 59 of the first 60 games.

No way to know of course, but glad Dusty got out when he did. I can't imagine the hatred on here if this was going on under his watch.

I prefer more frequent rest and I thought that was a team thing based on some data analysis (not Dusty specifically). I can only speculate it has gone away because they dug such a deep hole.

All of the 1 year deals the last two years have proven to be smart and none of those guys has proven to be worth anything long-term. I suspect Bregman is on a similar path.

If we are looking to straddle competitiveness while retooling a bit then we might want to look at trades where we can get at least one quality big leaguer back. So if you do get to the point where trading Tucker makes sense, you can get a couple good prospects plus one of these guys:

Twins - We saw what Larnach can do. His batted ball metrics are excellent and he has several more years of control. Not much of a fielder and he hasn't been good against lefties but the Twins could go all in for Tucker with us getting Larnach and a few of their good prospects (Rodriguez, Brooks Lee, Zebby Matthews).

Orioles - Ryan O'Hearn has turned into a pretty good player and actually plays a good 1B even though they use him at DH. He has a team option for only $7.5M but maybe you can negotiate a two year deal instead. Santander is a butcher so they can move him to DH. Throw in Mayo to be your future at 3B and you've got something cooking.

Phillies - This one may be polarizing but Kyle Schwarber makes sense. Yordan is below average in the OF but by no means bad. Schwarber is the most proven bat on this list. It makes sense for the Phillies as they need to get Castellanos out of the field. They have a lot of farm pieces that could fit (Aiden Miller, Caba, Crawford, Painter), though most are several years away. Really just comes down to whether you think Yordan can give you 130+ games a year in the field.
